Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction to episode 83!  Ok well, the Hunter Association has been recruited into this whole mess, so that should be interesting!  And wow guys, our epic battle against the ants was just....REALLY easy for our crew haha.  Loved Kite's finishing move, it was just the cherry on top!  But once again, a big reason for the advantage here is their lack of Nen....and OF COURSE they're figuring out how to unlock that now, ugh!!  Also, was that a brief mention of Pokkle I heard???  Is there any hope he's alive??  Things are about to get even more real!  Can't wait for what's next!  Great ep!  Enjoy!!  ~ MH

Hi Hime :) Remember what Wing said and how he awakened Nen in Killua and Gon, by infusing his own Nen. That's what happened with Rammot. Taking Gon's attack, he suffered what was hazing at the Celestial Tower, attacking with Nen. Now the Ants will also study Nen and develop it, which will spice up the fights even more, but the memories still, that they don't learn themselves and there is no one who has studied Nen to direct them. So it will be like giving the possibility of floating to someone who cannot swim, he will be able to do a lot of movement, but will not equal an Olympic swimmer. Concerning Slot, as I had already said, the chance finally is a kind of constraint which reinforces the power of its Nen, but the fact of being forced to use the weapon is still another. Which shows that his Nen is surely very powerful. However, we have clearly seen that it is not the strength of Nen that does everything, Hisoka has no constraints, the strength of his Nen is not extreme, but the way he uses it does everything. For Kite saying it's a bad number, say a simple gun in an enclosed space or a scythe killing everyone around, when you have allies, it's not necessarily ideal. But I think the author mostly did that to give Kite a genre and added a bit of humor with Gon and Killua wondering why he chose that power in this case, and you'll agree with me, we REALLY need a little humor with the rest of what's going on. For the story of the queen and the king, basically, the queen gives birth to the king and the guard protects him, then she gives birth to another king protected by another guard again and so on. The kings leave with their guard to find a queen and found a new colony. It's a circle that allows the Ants to develop and spread at great speed, getting stronger with each king, who mates with another species to evolve the race. Rather terrifying, no ? We're approaching the climax of this first part and I don't know if you're ready.

Hi Spadeas! :) Ahhhh yes!! That makes sense! I had forgotten about the hazing. Good point about the fact that they have no skilled mentor to really guide them though. And excellent point that it's not necessarily the brute force of one's nen, but rather how they use it, that makes someone so powerful! Oh I agree, the humor is VERY much needed in a story like this! The process that ants go through is pretty terrifying when it's on this scale, with Nen and other animal/human abilities to account for, for sure! Omg, I can't believe this is just the first part of the story, it's already so crazy!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see what happens!!!!!!!
