Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to Arcane ep 6!!!  Well, we sure got a whole lot in this ep!  The uneasy feeling that "progress" in Piltover is giving me is definitely growing now that we just kicked poor Heimerdinger to the curb...!  We also get some great backstory on Viktor, which ends up coming full circle in the form of him....being willing to do some grotesque mad science?!  I don't want Viktor to die, but I also really don't want him to change!  Last but not least, HERE COMES THE REUNION WE ALL WAITED FOR!!!!  I gotta say, it went about how I'd expected....I'm totally living for those first few moments where they were just completely vulnerable and shocked/happy to see each other!  Things are all in upheaval again now, dang it!!!  What will happen next?  Can't wait!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

There’s a few things of interest to point out here: Viktor working on the boat invention is nice, but notice that while it works, it works a lot faster and better than he expects it to, and he has to scramble to catch back up to it. By the way, the doctor he meets in the cave with the mutation: I’m pretty sure it’s the same scientist who was working on Shimmer with Silco in Episode 3 before it all went sky high. “The mutation must survive.” The doctor tells this to Viktor as a child but he doesn’t realize the ramifications of the statement until he sees the lengths the doctor is going to in order to keep the beast alive later. This is fueling his own drive and resolve to do whatever it takes to figure out the puzzle he’s currently working on, but just like the boat, it’s sailing away at its own pace and he’s scrambling to keep up. Quick side note: I’m also reminded of a certain other show where someone said a similar phrase: “I will sacrifice whatever it takes...” Everyone was cheering at the time but that phrase quickly went south. The CONTEXT in which a statement is presented matters, not just the moment it’s presented in. (Also, you should have a pretty good idea what I’m talking about here 😉). Silco is scary, but like I said, his VA does a great job. The scene with Marcus and the kid, he never actually says what he actually means, and yet, his dialogue is written so well here that everybody immediately understands what he’s saying without him having to actually say it. You can cut the tension in it with a knife, it’s so juicy at keeping you on edge. Recoiling like that is natural. 😂 There’s an interesting turnabout on the whole “reap what you sow” thing here, because while Heimerdinger is not wrong about wanting to be cautious, constantly thinking that humans have as much patience as him when he outlives all of them has led to his being blindsided. Recall back in Episode 2 when he swayed the council to have Jayce expelled from the academy? This is basically the same scene, but now the roles have been reversed. While Jayce may respect the professor’s opinion, by no means has he forgotten this humiliation either. The person of interest who helps Caitlin get a potion for Vi is a very minor spoiler at this point, so I’ll hold off. All I’m going to say is this: you have seen him before. Also, Shimmer, as you mentioned, does have healing properties when applied carefully. The comparison I can think of is marijuana. It can be abused and create detrimental side effects. But it can ALSO be used for medical purposes and properties when applied carefully and create a beneficial result. Pretty sure Silco was kicking either a wall or one of his jacked up minions out of frustration. Either way, it’s not anything that’s going to have a lasting impression. I don’t need to spend too much time on the whole Vi/Caitlin/Jinx scene except to say, trust issues doesn’t even BEGIN to cover what’s going on between these three now. Lots of moving parts to unpack there! The group that showed up at the end are the Fire Lights, the strange band that attacked the shimmer at the start of Episode 4 before Jinx blew up the vehicle. (Come to think of it, everything Jinx does ends in violence or an explosion to date. You really don’t need to ask.) “How can one girl cause so much trouble?” Silco now has a new problem because Jinx thinks he’s been lying to her about Vi to this point, but he’s been just as in the dark. He could’ve also been referring to Vi and the headache her resurfacing is causing. Or Caitlin, who just grabbed the improved Hextech orb that Jinx was being VERY careless with - she was so lackluster she even dropped it in a drink. But Caitlin’s snooping is what started all this, so he could be referring to any one of the three women at this time. Have fun finding out what happens next (Hint: There’s a lot of zags when you’re expecting zigs 😂). 👋

ah, that scene with Vi and Jinx meeting again really tugs at my heart q.q the way jinx so tearfully says "things changed when you were gone... I changed." it just hurts so bad. And then Vi trying to comfort her, thinking that they can be together again, and it all just falling apart is ahhhhhhh. I really love this series. Feel kinda bad with you having to space it all out by a week each time sdhfs especially for these last few episodes, I know when I watched 7 I just immediately went "well I gotta see what happens next" and then after 8 feeling the exact same way and finishing the series in that sitting. Still, nice to have a while to sit and digest each episode, and build up hype for the next, so you've got that going for you. Looking forward to next time!

Right?!?! I know! So sad!!! Oh man, sounds like I'm gonna be left on some cliffhangers!!! XD On the plus side, watching weekly gives me time to process each ep and discuss it with you guys!!! I can't wait for more!!!!!!!!

Ohhh good call about the boat, hmm!! Ah yes, lots of parallels to the current situation as well. Hahaha ohhhh yes I know just what you're referring to, in fact it did hit me a bit while I was watching, but I didn't wanna interrupt/hint at anything spoilery for that series!!! But excellent point! Oof, Silco's VA is a genius for sure!!! He's so good at what he does haha. Ooohhh good call about this being a reverse of Heimerdinger's expelling Jayce from the academy....except I really did get the idea there that he didn't want to have to expel Jayce. So maybe that's how Jayce is feeling here too? Oh!!!! Thanks for the hint about the potion person! Good to know I was right about shimmer! Kind of like hex tech - it can be used for great things or terrible things, depending on how you use it / to what extent. Oh thanks for clarifying about Silco there. Yikes, I can't imagine what lasting repercussions this will have on the trust!!! Ah ok, that's what I thought about the gang!!! Oh yeah, it does seem like everything Jinx is involved in ends with a "bang". Yeah, the "one girl" statement casts a wide net lol. OMG!!!! I can't wait for what happens next!!!!!!!!!!
