Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction to episode 76!   Whoa, I did not see any of this coming!
Was really starting to wonder because of the "reunion" in the title, but they had a clever way of getting around that, didn't they?  Here we meet Kite, a disciple of Ging's!!!  And, we get to learn about what's arguably the scariest thing on this show so far....maybe even scarier than Hisoka :O  WHY DID IT HAVE TO BE BUGS??!!?!?  Can't wait to see where this arc is going!

In the 1999 version of HxH littler Gon meets a man named Kite in the forest. Kite saves Gon from an animal that's trying to protect its cub. Tho he doesn't like to kill he was going to kill the cub since the mom died and stating the baby would kill and never care for humans. Before killing the cub, Gon steps in to save the cub, even tho it's clawing at him, in his arms. After seeing that Kite tells Gon about the hunter exam. And after exchanging words he finds out Gon is Gings son. And tells Gon his father is still alive. (At that time Aunt Mito told him both his parents were killed in an accident). This happens before Gon takes the hunter exam. And is during Kite's final test to make his teacher, Ging acknowledge him.

Yeah for some reason they cut the original meeting with kite in the 2011 version of the anime. And even weirder the 1999 version never reintroduced him because it ends after the greed island arc. Lol

I've always assumed that the reason why Ging gives the whole "bringing friends means he's too gutless to meet with me on his own" speech is actually because Ging actually very much does value friendship and knew Gon would have friends and of course would like to bring them to meet Ging. He was just using it as an avoidance tactic. He knew the odds of Gon of all people telling his friend "sorry, you wait here. I'm gonna peace out and visit my dad in who-knows-where-or-how-far-away and we can meet up later" was basically zero.

Ohhh interesting! Haha wow I had no idea the other series ended so early, dang!!! Glad they made the 2011 one at least!!!

Yeah I agree!!! I think he was just being extra shy lol. Also, I find it interesting that having not seen each other since Gon was a baby, Ging and Gon seem to have this uncanny understanding of one another!!!!!!!!!
