Hey everyone!  I am back today with the start of Nomad of Nowhere!  Here's my reaction to episode 4!  Oh man, we came so close to having actual interaction between Skout and co. and the Nomad again!  I was sad they were just trying to capture him, but thankfully (kinda), everyone got too caught up in their own in-fighting to catch him!  I felt so bad for him having to see the onstage replica of himself - getting booed and beat up, no less!!!  I'm just waiting for when we can hopefully talk and sort this all out - it only takes 5 minutes to know that the Nomad is about as nice and wholesome as it gets!!!!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

A nice balance of comedy and action in this episode. My head canon has always been that the big lizard is the momma of the little one. The Nomad seems to get along well with animals. The former bounty hunters turned circus performers really lucked out finding the Nomad but the Ringmaster's greed was their own undoing, along with Toph's single track, my way or the highway mind. What I like about Skout is her moral compass. She wants to follow the rules and be a good employee....but she also questions the rules and follows her conscience.

There’s a lot of satire and caricatures in this particular episode. You DO need to remember that while Skout is a generally kind-hearted person, she also is trying to capture the Nomad as well, it’s in her job description. I swear, this episode makes me think of two things: first, there’s a classic Looney Tunes vibe, especially with the Nomad’s disguise. Feels like something Bugs Bunny would do to hide from Elmer Fudd, and nobody can tell the difference in the show but it’s blatantly obvious to everyone watching. The second is that the Nomad is used for a lot of silent gag jokes. No pun intended there, but it kind of feels like some of the old Charlie Chaplin films - they were silent, and no dialogue was used but somehow the main character always found himself at the center of shenanigans. Oh, and there is a RWBY nod in here: when the Nomad holds up the pennant flag, it’s a reference to when Blake held up a RWBY pennant in Volume 1 while cheering Weiss on when she fought the Boarbatusk in Port’s class. :)

No I want to give him a huge hug. Boo to the audience. He gets my applause. 👏

Yes!!!! And I love that head canon! I love that he's an animal lover. Yeah for sure, that would have been the bounty of the century but in-fighting wrecked it all! For Toth too. Exactly - she wants to do the right thing not only for her job, but also in general!

kamenriderhime

That's very true!!!! She still has a job to do. Hahah YES!!! I could totally see the Looney Tunes vibes!!! Also a good point about silent era comedy! They're definitely taking some notes on both, I think. OHHHHH I totally missed the RWBY nod!!! That's so cool!!!!!!!!!!!

2023-01-17 00:45:16 Honestly there’s not much to say about this episode. I think it’s because while it’s still good in my opinion it’s the weakest episode of the show. Another reason for this might be something not really noticeable but this was the original pilot episode they pitched to RT for this show. Although I do love Nomad’s relationship with the lizards in this episode it’s heartwarming and cute. Also this is a great lesson about working together in this episode. The physical gags in this show are fantastic. Great reaction and I can’t wait for more. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

Without being too negative, this is my least favorite episode. But if I’m remembering the order right next episode is one of my favorites.
