Hey everyone!  Here it is - my reaction to episode 25 of Frieren!  WOW you guys, who knew that Frieren had a weakness like that?! And the flashbacks with Serie were fantastic, it says so much about the difference between the ways that they think. Even as someone who didn't fully understand humans, their lives, or their emotions, Frieren was a lot more Frieren back then than I would've thought! I'm also loving the teamwork in this one!!! Can't wait for more! Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

You overslept? Must be a Frieren thing. :P I believe the character in question is pronounced Ooh-bell, but I need to listen again. So the main thing that stood out to me in this episode (I’m going to work backwards here), came out of her talk with Serie. While Frieren comes off as dispassionate, she does actually experience emotion. By contrast, Serie is cold and logical and doesn’t really have any of those. They’re very matter of fact in their declarations, and you have to prove they’re wrong for them to even consider changing their minds. You asked why the study of magic was going on despite Serie tearing up the will - the emperor of the realm had already ordered the study to begin at that time - that’s why the magical association putting on the test they’re currently taking even exists. Now, during the first part of the episode you see just how much Fern has developed since we first met her - she isn’t just a participant in strategy, she’s picking up on things and taking initiative. So it occurred to me, Frieren’s favorite spell is the flower spell because she likes to watch them grow. In that context, based on what she told Serie, you could say Fern is her biggest bloomer. One more thing: there seems to be a bit of a misconception - Frieren stops detecting other people’s mana when she casts a spell, it has nothing to do with her own suppression. Think of it like using infrared to locate a heat signature of another person, but mana specifically detects mages, and while she’s casting, that ability to discern other mages around her goes up in smoke. On to the next one!

Aw man I would have loved to see the heroes in action back in the day. I thought Fern was going to conjure up a treasure trove and showcase that as her weakness. 😆 Man Flamme was so cute and wholesome. 🥺 🌹🪻🌸🌺🌷🌻🌼💐🥀🪷

LOL I told you I could relate to her! :P Ok ooo-bell makes sense but I wasn't sure! That's such a great way to put it actually, that's exactly what I was trying to say. Serie highlights the big difference between her and Frieren in that scene. Oh ok, thanks for explaining about the magic thing, I was sort of curious as to why Serie is doing the whole "give you any spell you want thing" when she seemed so disapproving of humans using magic. Fern has grown so much! Awwwwww Fern is her best flower omg :))))))))))))))) Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up, I thought maybe it had to do with the suppression thing.
