So, today my headset gave up the ghost, so I've decided to go and order the new microphone setup anyway. It won't be ideal, as my current setup isn't conducive to that kind of equipment, but I'm looking at this as a sign of commitment to getting the house sold.

For captains and up, I'll be working on getting SG1 to you tonight, I managed to get the mic working enough to at least finish recording that.

If you'd like the update on the renovation of Debris Ranch: Years ago I pulled out the old linoleum in the storage room and converted it into a library by putting down faux hardwood panels on the floor. In other words, I covered actual hardwood with imitation hardwood. Yes, I found it funny at the time, too. When we tried to sell, we pulled down all the collapsing ceiling tiles (they were never put up properly, color me surprised), painted the ceiling, and put some crown molding around to help fudge the edging, then painted it all to go with the hideous 70s wall panels. So, after the feedback at the open house, I decided to pull up the faux hardwood and restore the original hardwood. But I figured, if we were ever going to take down that hideous paneling, it would make sense before I fixed the floor rather than after.

So we removed all the crown molding, then pulled off the paneling. Behind that we found... more paneling. Probably from the 1930s, given the way it was put in. I thought maybe about restoring that, but then remembered in the 1930s environmental impact statements boiled down to "turn around while I do this," so we ripped that out too. Well, the stuff we found behind that was so bad, we decided the only choice was to cover it all up with wainscotting and modern paneling. And needing to repaint all the crown molding, of course. So that's what's on the docket with that. Hopefully I don't get lead/mercury/radiation poisoning doing all this...
