Young Anastasia isn't really dumb, she's just kind of naive and has a truck load of self-doubt. I feel like a lot of smart people sometimes come off as dumb if they're constantly second-guessing themselves and don't trust themselves to come to logical conclusions. Conversely, I've noticed that some really dumb people can convince a whole lot of people that they're actually intelligent just by speaking with confidence, even when they're saying some of the dumbest shit you've ever heard.
