I've really been enjoying Zelda on Switch, and for the most part it seems to be really popular with other gamers as well, but there's a very vocal group who absolutely hate the fragile weapons in the game. I think the game balance takes that into account and the game runs fine with it, but I do understand the frustration. I think as gamers we're kind of conditioned to think of weapons as new, permanent prizes each time they're found in games, whereas Breath of the Wild treats them more like temporary upgrades, or even, in some ways, like ammo.

I do kind of wish that the game was more akin to the weapon durability system from Fallout, where you could cannibalize weapons to keep a similar weapon in your inventory in good condition. That way finding a junk weapon in the wild still gives you some sense of reward, since it has some value to you, but you still might find yourself saving a weapon that's difficult to maintain for special occasions.
