BCC 35-28: Low-Res Early Access (Patreon)

I'm trying to write Harold in a way where he doesn't come off as like... a cartoonish villain or a bully... but more that he's got a casual indifference that even he's unaware of... enough for the viewer to enjoy and celebrate Bianca and Charlene hooking up, but not enough to make you question why the two of them are even together in the first place. That's something that bugs me a lot in bad romance movies... when the female love interest is dating someone who's a massive, irredeemable asshole, mostly so the audience won't begrudge the hero for breaking up a relationship, but the fact that the love interest tolerates his awfulness in these movies just makes her unlikeable as well, in my eyes.

That aside, I just wanted to let everyone know ahead of time that I'll be taking time off soon for Thanksgiving. I'll be leaving to visit my Mom again... normally I would rather avoid traveling or visiting family during the pandemic, but since my Stepdad died and things have been so rough for her lately, we're making plans to visit. We're keeping the group very small... just myself, my wife, my mom, and grandmother, and we've been putting extra effort into isolating ourselves in preparation, especially because Covid cases have gone up a lot in my area. We haven't actually left the house in days... we've been getting groceries and other essentials delivered to make sure we minimize exposure as much as possible before visiting family.

I know the Holidays are complicated with everything that's going on, so if anyone is going to be visiting family for Thanksgiving please be as careful as possible. Keep any gatherings as small as you can... and for Fuck's Sake don't go to any Black Friday events. Actually, regardless of pandemic or not... Fuck Black Friday. Probably the worst day of the year even on a good year. Just avoid it.
