I want to take a moment to talk about Patreon, and unfortunate problem with the system. Because of the way Patreon processes payments, it's easy for someone to create a pledge, download all the items available through an artist's patreon, then cancel their pledge before actually paying for anything. It's something a lot of people don't like to talk about partly because they don't want some unscrupulous people who weren't aware of this flaw to take advantage of it.

I've actually reached a point where I don't get excited for new pledges, because the odds are high that the person will cancel their pledge within a a few minutes of creating it. I know it's hard to control anything that comes out on the internet, but I just want to ask anyone considering trying to take advantage of this problem to instead try something else... maybe just leave your pledge there until the end of the month. Stick with it, get the daily updates, contribute to Side Dishes and offer suggestions on what you want to see with the comic... maybe once you see how things go for a month you'll decide that it was worth $5. Even if not... nearly all of the content offered on patreon eventually gets posted for free, and even the things that are Patreon-exclusive, like Side Dishes, only ask for $1 or even less per month.

I love being able to survive off of drawing comics, even if I'm technically making less than minimum wage for the amount of time it takes me every day to draw comics for you all. I hope that if you like the comic that you also at least respect the work we put in to not give us false hope through fake pledges.

Also, there's still time to vote for the short story I'm going to work ons oon
