The first page of the comic in glorious color! As long as the Patreon keeps over the $500 threshold the comic will continue to update daily in color. We're already 13 pages into this chapter for the early access Patreon members, and I think I'm getting used to doing pages in color vs. black and white. It still definitely takes a lot of extra time, especially in the flatting stage. I've considered eventually hiring a flatter for the comic, but the sheer volume of output for the comic makes it pretty unfeasible. The minimum you can really pay someone to do flat colors on a comic page is $10, and at 30 pages a month that would be $300/month just for help with flats. The patreon, all things considered, is going quite well for a relatively new series, but I'm definitely making under minimum wage for the amount of time I'm putting in. Don't get me wrong... I don't want to come off as though I'm complaining. I'm actually much happier and less stressed than I was when I was working at Wal-Mart. In that position I made about twice what I'm making off of my patreon now, and even worked less hours per day and had regular days off. But I was also completely miserable at least once per day. I've never had problems with serious depression, but working there was the closest I've ever gotten. Also, don't forget to vote once every day for what you want to see next in Side Dishes! http://www.poll-maker.com/poll324005x12184884-12
