 We managed to get a new computer for my wife. she wanted to get a serious upgrade, so we went to Fry's Electronics and picked up all the parts for her to build her own PC. Still relatively expensive (or at least, more expensive than my own PC), but it cost way less than buying a similar unit pre-made. Probably about half the cost, really. The thing that confused the hell out of me was that we couldn't get it to turn on once we had all the stuff put together. We were messing around with all the parts... the power source, the CPU, etc.... it turned out we just had to change what slot the RAM was slotted into. I have no idea why.
