Hey Everyone!

I'm sure the name Mike Schley is known to many of you, especially if you have ever picked up a D&D book, or maybe you started out by playing through Lost Mines of Phandelver like I did. Mike is one of the best TTRPG cartographers and artists out there and has a truly beautiful and very recognisable style. He was a huge inspiration to me when I started creating my own battlemaps, and I have been fortunate enough to get to meet him a handful of times. People say never meet your heroes, but as well as being incredibly talented Mike is also a wonderful person.

Mike has recently started a Patreon titled 'The Epic Atlas'. In their own words "The Epic Atlas is a new RPG map, artwork, and storytelling endeavor bringing the enchanted world of Fernweh into your home and virtual tabletop game room. Through this shimmering portal is an immersive fantastical setting, conceived from the imagination of distinguished D&D cartographer and artist Mike Schley, and developed as a game supplement with the minds of creative storytellers, such as yourself, at heart.

This system-independent setting is aimed at providing a unique world of visual art, cartography, and tales for you to use in your own campaign that come from the mind and pen of a contemporary artist with a taste for classic storytelling. While the current focus is on publishing new monthly chapters, the goal is also set to expand in time into the physical realm with offerings such as coffee table, pop-up landscape, and coloring books as well as hands-on gaming goodies. Join the trek as we set our sights on the land of Fernweh and let’s go exploring!"

I highly recommend you go and check out the new Patreon. Memberships start as low as $3 per month.

To get you started Mike has very kindly given me a Free Sample Pack to share with you all. You can download the zip file at the bottom of this post.

If you want to learn more about Mike's work and his background, I also recommend listening to his interview with Limithron on the Ship of the Dead Podcast
