We are yet to hear anything official from Wizards of the Coast regarding the leaked OGL1.1 document, however the community is being proactive in doing everything we can to keep this from coming to pass.

#OpenDnD is a rallying cry under which creators and fans have unified to demand that WotC revoke the draconian 1.1 OGL and pledge to support the existing 1.0 OGL into future editions of their games. This isn’t an opportunity to litigate and tinker with a new license, but to return to the values of open gaming. Our community deserves an open future if we want our favorite games to not only survive, but thrive!!

If you are a creator, #DontSign the new agreement. If you love roleplaying games, let WotC know we won't support them without an #OpenDnD!

WotC has shown that they are the dragon on top of the hoard, willing to burn the thriving village if only to get a few more gold pieces. It’s time for us to band together as adventurers to defend our village from the terrible wyrm.

Please go to https://www.opendnd.games/ to sign the open letter, along side thousand of other creators, GMs and players. There is also an FAQ and articles to provide more information.

Even if you don't play D&D, this is likely to effect you. Many games are based on the OGL1.0a even if they don't use the 5e Systems Reference Document (SRD) and the whole industry is so interconnected that everyone will feel the ramifications of this.

We will get back to the regularly scheduled content as soon as possible, until then please know that your support means everything and we will do whatever we can to keep creating for the games you love, except signing the OGL 1.1.

I've signed the letter

It floors me that they think this makes sense, even just from a business perspective. Do they really not get that this will drive TONS of consumers away, and destroy so much of the content that many of us are here to enjoy?

I think is coming from Hasbro executives who don't understand the industry at all. Some of their more recent hires have been from the tech sector where they try stuff like this all the time.

I'm curious to know specifically how it affects creators like you Tom. I support so many Patreon creators in DND, and it seems like this new ogl is targeted at them specifically.

Hey George, you can have a look at my previous post to see how I think it will effect me, but the honest truth is I have no idea yet, none of us really do.

I appreciate the propagation of this type of info across multiple platforms. This is the type of response the gaming community at large needs to show to Wizards.

Signed!

Signed.. On the plus side, WoTC in their scummyness made me check out the Pathfinder 2E ruleset. I've only played 1E before and did not enjoy it as much as 5E, but it looks like they've done some really interesting and awesome changes compared to both PF1E and DnD5E.

Signed, and forwarded it to so many people! 😂

Signed and thrilled to see the organization coming out of this, despite knowing how much uncertainty content creators like yourself are facing. I doubt the executives anticipated this level of solidary. Thanks for spreading the info.

Taro Köck

Signed, I'm hoping for the content creators to sustain all activities that could benefit WotC. Only if this leads to an outright debacle for the Wzards, they stand a chance of learning from it.
