Hey everyone!

It's that time of the year where we choose the next theme for my main series of maps. We will be finishing the 'Samarahd' series this month with the 'Tower of the Magi' and 'The Emerald Palace', and I want input on what you would like to see from me next!

The choices are:

Keeps & Castles - I recently completed Thestwick Watch, but I have ideas for a number of other themed castles, keeps, fortresses and bases that could fit a variety of locations and settings. This theme would include maps like a Grimdark Gothic Castle, a Tropical Island Fortess, a Fortified Military Encampment, a Bridge Garrison, and Knightly Tournament Grounds.

Monster Lairs - Thanks to the fantastic work of Splattered Ink, we have a growing library of monsters and beasts for your parties to do battle with, and over the last few months I have released a few maps to go with them. However, we still need some appropriate environments for a TPK...erm Epic Battle. This theme would include maps like more Dragon Nests, a Mind-Alien(TM) Colony, and Eyestalk-Monster(TM) Lair.

The High Seas - We will explore Sinbarr Island and its surrounding waters. The Reclusive Cartographer created an exciting town map for us and I can't wait to flesh out some of the locations. This theme would include maps like Exotic Ships, Hidden Coves, Pirate Islands, Shipwrecks, Sinbarr Fort, The Governor's Residence, Sinbarr Town and the Sinder Volcano

Ruin & Rebuild - I have a few maps sets with ruined versions, like Essenheim Manor/Ruins and the recent Thestwick Watch/Ruins, and would like to do a whole series of these. We could take some existing maps to make ruined versions, and also do some new ones. Give your players a chance to find an abandoned structure and rebuild it as a base, or alternatively find a beautiful location and burn it to the ground with fireballs

Leave a comment below if you have some ideas for maps you would like to see as part of your chosen theme!

Love the idea for "Ruins and Rebuild"!

Damn. I was really hoping to get some maps out for the island that was made a while back. Plus, more boats would have been great. Maybe next time!

I totally need a Ruin/Rebuild of an Island location :)

I feel like we won't get it, but I would really love a gothic castle to serve as the lair of an Antipaladin NPC!

Bradley

Can never have enough keeps & castles so that's my vote.

If I had my druthers I’d like something a little more mundane. Like a ruined village with most of the basic shops a party my stop off at to recharge. Sweep through cleaning out squatters and baddies. Convert it into their own little berg. Ultimately I’d view it as something geared towards lower level. Then as the party grows in renown so does their city! Unless they move on to a more befitting lair/HQ of their choosing :)

Variations on ruins - mostly ruins with a few spots still intact, or partially rebuilt; large scale ruins that have current structures built around them, incorporating ruins; etc.

And good old Ostenwold would be just perfect for that 😉 +1 on your suggestion

Ruined versions of maps you already have available. Just toss the furniture around, put a few holes in walls, gunk it up with some light overlay brushes. Boom. $$$$

*googles Ostenwold* heh thats Tom's stuff! I shall have to dive into that a little deeper as indeed that is kinda what I am looking for!

I used the Essenheim Manor series as a place to do an entire 3-session adventure, where my party played evil assassins and went after the parents of their nation's emperor whilst they were at a foreign ball hosted in the manor. They ended up setting the place on fire and setting off bombs to cause distractions, then took hostages in the wreckage to lure the nobles back to their slaughter. All that text to say.. I wouldn't have been able to do that nearly so easily without the two versions of that map. I'd love to see more, the opportunities are fantastic!
