Monkey Business in Gravesfield 6 - or ‘A Tale of a Saiyan, a Basilisk, and a Human’ (Post-DBZ Xenoverse x Pre-Finale The Owl House, Saiyan!OC)

Chibiron was a very upset Palisman. But he was also very lucky to have Jay as a partner.

As much as he was happy that he found his proper partner and that he was a strong entity to tag along with, the fact that he didn’t rely on magic made his need for a Palisman close to zero.

To a Palisman, this was a huge defeat. Sure his boss was a lovable person despite his rough exterior around new people, and he gave him so many belly-rubs that Chibiron couldn’t fault the human for it, yet the Palisman wanted to be valuable to Jay.

Jay was his caretaker, his guardian and Chibiron was meant to be his helper somehow. After a bit of a ‘scuffle’ at school, the two had agreed to be a bit less ‘pain in the butty’ towards one another.

Thus, the search for Chibiron’s self-value started. And it got nowhere as he studied Jay’s schedule. The ‘human’ was not exactly normal- and that was beyond the mere sight of a monkey tail coming from slightly above his butt.

The energy that was supposed to be a ‘fraction’ of his partner’s own strength was astonishingly powerful and it made Chibiron so energetic- but also so butthurt because he wanted to be helpful!

As they got home, Chibiron respected Jay’s order of not getting caught by his uncle and aunt as they were back home for a ‘planned date night’ or something like that. What Chibiron knew was that they had a free day to… ‘test things out’.

When he was told that they were going to ‘try out his abilities’, Chibiron got super-excited. He started to jump around, tear some curtains and then ended up on the pillow of shame because he caused a mess in the room and ‘pissed off’ Jay.

Jay didn’t seem really angry, more like as upset as he was. And while Chibiron endured the punishment, the strange human gave him a pensive look and told him what they would be testing.

“First off, let’s go for a flight.”

Now, Chibiron was a Palisman- so it made sense that he should be good at flying and, while he had been told by his partner that he was slower than him as he could also fly…

Well, something happened as they went for a slight competition and he double-paced Jay during a quick race.

“WOAH!” Jay exclaimed, while poor Chibiron squeaked in a mixture of shock and delight as he didn’t expect for his speed to be like  this.

His mind just told him that it was impossible for a Palisman like him to do that but… but he did it! And it was completely awesome! The sense of power coming from within as he surged through the skies. It was the most intense and wonderful thing he could have predicted.

But then they had to drop the flying test because they ended up breaking the sound barrier.

Instead of going back home, Jay took Chibiron to the lake. Specifically, in an area that was far away from trouble and ideal for further testing. This time, they were going to test his ‘fire’.

“You’re hungry, I suppose. Vee told me you eat meat too.”

Chibiron was not sure where this was going, but he double-nodded at the chance of a big juicy steak. What he didn’t expect was for Jay to retrieve what looked to be some sort of tiny containers, unlock those and… and reveal several big slabs of boar meat that had yet to be cooked.

Breaking a tree, Jay carefully created three large stakes that he planted on the ground, allowing for the sharp end to be used to stab the meat as he put the slabs on the stakes.

“If you want a good meal, you need to really do a good job here. Not just a strong flame, I want you focused, Chibiron.”

Nodding with determination, the Dragon Palisman took a stance, mustered the fire cracking within his special ‘third lung’ and then, with attention to not burn away what could be his lunch, proceeded to roast the meat.

A solid minute passed, then two, and then Chibiron stopped at the third minute. It took a lot from him to get the right intensity for the flame, but as the fire got dispersed… Well, Jay took care of the rest.

He carefully disposed of the burning wood to the nearby lake before destroying it for good and then seasoned the meat before splitting it in two different portions. A bigger one for the human and the rest for Chibiron.

While that may sound unfair, the Palisman had two reasons to not complain: 1) the portion he got was huge and he was super-full by the time he was done with it and 2) his partner ate a lot and barely looked fat despite the ferocious eating he would engage into.

“Man, it’s been a while since I had a proper meal like this,” He praised in delight. “Excellent control with the flame, Chibiron.”

The Palisman squeaked in agreement as the food had been super-juicy and tasty. Not just for its flavor, but because he had made it happen and he was eating food he helped to make. To Chibiron, this put him in a good mood.

And that’s before he got some more head-rubbing from Jay while he softly purred on his lap, enjoying a bit of an outdoor nap before it was time to get back home to rest. After all, the day was far from over, but he could tell one thing.

Chibiron was a very happy Palisman and, as he told himself earlier this morning, also very lucky to have Jay as his partner.

“I think Stringbean is sick.”

Luz Noceda was not saying this without some reasonable concerns. She had seen her Palisman have strange bouts of the sneezing for a bit over three days now.

While she initially thought it was some sort of allergy, or maybe it was the fact that the climate was getting quite cold in the Boiling Isles this time of the year, the human was now sure that it was some sort of common cold or close.

And from the look her girlfriend was giving her, she was sure this was a good hunch.

“You should take her to Hunter,” Amity Blight suggested sitting beside Luz as the two girls enjoyed some free time at the cafeteria.

The human smiled at this, “Already told him I would pass tomorrow. He said he was going to be a bit busy with a case but should be able to help me with Stringbean.”

“Do you want me to tag along?”

“I wouldn’t mind. We could go on a date too after that,” Luz offered with a hint of giddiness, and Amity smiled.

“Oh, you’re finally asking me out after so long? I thought you forgot about it.”

Both shared a chuckle, the witch’s words quite honest and amusing with the recent big entrance tests they went through. The headmaster had been putting his students through a bit of hell now that Eda was planning to open an ‘University for Wild Magic’.

Luz was already ‘prepared’ for it, but she knew the others weren’t. And she loved the opportunity given by the homework to spend time with her girlfriend so… profit. And as a bigger smile appeared on her face, Luz couldn’t help but sigh lovingly at his girlfriend. Causing poor Amity to appear a bit flustered.

“Y-Yes?”

“Mi novia es realmente linda hoy,” Luz replied in Spanish, his grin widening slightly more as Amity’s blush improved into a tomato-tier full-face blush.

After all, knowing her girlfriend has been studying Spanish non-stop meant that they could have some flirting going with that.

Ah yes, life truly is fine nowadays but… it’s getting a bit boring on the adventure aspects.

Hopefully something exciting will happen soon…

Jay dodged Murphy to some extent, but now Luz is trying to go for it and may not be as lucky.

Also, here's a happy Lumity pic!
