As with book 6, some random trivia about book 7 and my original plans for it. Better late than never.
This one will probably be shorter, as my original story plan tapered off massively after book 6.
So, book 7. Let's start with the ending. Originally, the book was supposed to end with the battle of Asaria. I won't say more on that because, well, spoilers, but I actually reshuffled it in part because it would have required a MAJOR timeskip, but also because I didn't wish to overshadow the battle of Darthar, especially given how great it turned out to be. Thus there was some shuffling around and the kerfuffle with Sunrise's commandos was brought forward.
The commandos were also originally supposed to be a LOT more dangerous. As in 'their leader is an archon' dangerous, with Alexandra, at Ghost's suggestion, being forced to lure them down into Seraph's bunker and detonate the nuke stockpiled within, destroying them and containing the detonation within the facility's shielding to prevent discovery by the God of Fire and his minions. However, I did away with that for a whole host of reasons, foremost among them that there has been enough 'Alexandra barely scrapes by an attack on her core' fights and I'm sick and tired of them. It's high time she rolls out the ass kicking red carpet for people coming for her and have her praetorian guard hand them their asses on a silver platter.
Other than that, the siege of Darthar itself was supposed to be a bit different. Alexandra's fleet was originally supposed to arrive after the breach had occurred and the outlying sectors of the city had been overrun, forcing her to fight off the Duke and his airfleet as his army poured in, before ending in much the same fashion. I decided to separate both fights out as I both needed an earlier battle for pacing reason, but also because it would be an extremely long battle, and it wouldn't do Falmagar, the first archmage she ever faced, justice.
And that's about all I can remember. Sorry for the delay guys, had this one halfway done but dropped it to write book 8 instead. Hope you'll have enjoyed it nonetheless ! Note that there is some more stuff I could have talked about, but it would be major spoilers for events that were moved to another book or reworked into something else but would still be an issue.
