Memetic March - Blogpost (Patreon)

Holycow it's already been a year since I started this Patreon and it has been amazing to watch it grow as much as it has. To be fully honest I am still utterly floored at the amount of support and encouragement I have received from all of you. I literally could not have done this without you.

Because of you I now have a editor who cleans up the audio so that I don't have to slam my head against it for three to four hours a week. I also have been able to buy better recording equipment, art references, art textbooks, software, and spend some time learning from a professional art teacher to better hone my skills to provide awesome new content.

It is just thoroughly amazing and doesn't even fully encompass the breadth of support and ability you have all given me access too. However, I have also been pushing myself consistently to burnout and sometimes beyond out of fear that if I miss my regular uploads of content I will lose traction and stop being able to grow this into a fulltime job. Which obviously isn't the most sustainable way to approach this process. Last year I only took off around 4 weeks total in the year, mind I work weekends so I rarely have actual full days off as my regular job also goes on during the week and sometimes weekends.

Many of you have expressed that this is not good and I agree wholeheartedly. Which is why going forward this year I am going to be planning and scheduling time off for myself more rigorously and with clear windows of time off. Don't worry though the only thing that I will not be doing during that time is live recording sessions as regular file releases will still continue during my time off.

I also am going to be considering some additional avenues as this year continues, community events, and passive income so I don't panic as hard when I take time off.
