Lots of base blocks were in need of an overhaul or at the very least a touch up. Here are the changes that Realaccurate received today.

Grass side

Side grass (also paths, podzol, snow) were kinda meh at the moment. I spent a bit of time trying to improve the side mask, as well as adding well-crafted AO maps and making sure the heightmap wouldn't cause issue with depth-aware shaders.

Cobblestone

I needed cobblestone to have better AO and less noise, also the mossy variant was a bit off so I redesigned its AO and normal/depth maps. The masks have better shapes and transitions, the details are crispier without being especially noisy. They're in my opinion much better

Andesite, diorite, granite

Those were also in great need of a revamp. Granite was okay so I just made some slight adjustments to the normalmap. Andesite and diorite got a complete detail overhaul. All three also have their base colormap redesigned.

Stone and ores

base stone texture was then getting a bit bland compared to the new andesite/diorite/granite rocks. I added some details and changed the base texture. It's maybe not final as I might tinker a bit more with the shape so the pattern is not too obvious. In any case it's more detailed and fits better alongside the new *ite rocks.

Polished blackstone

Lastly I want to show you the changes to the polished blackstone blocks (regular polished blackstone, chiseled, bricks, cracked bricks).

I made changes to the edges and completely overhauled their shape, they now look grittier, cruder, more suited to the Nether. I also adjusted the heightmaps to get more details and avoid compression/white clipping.

That's it for now! I think a new early-access version might come soon now there are some new things to show off!

Stay tuned!
