Yes, Spider and Slime go in different directions with their story but to be fair Spider hides much of its weirdness from you in the few episodes you watched.

Yoo ruff, its my personal opinion, but i wanna let u know anyways. I think u shouldnt watch this anime while streaming, mainly bc i feel like u dont pay much attention to the anime while u are interacting with the chat (completely understandable), but this anime has also politics involved, and a bunch of crazy stuff, so the experience would be better for u if u were more focused... or u could pause more when u wanna point out stuff with the chat... but idk

story is much better in spider while characters are better in slime imo. Animation quality sucks i in spider though, so overall say slime is a bit better solely based on that.

would like that myself, he got the gist of the story with shield hero, and he has for sure gotten better paying attention while reading chat, but to me my main problem is the reaction feels way more distant and distracted, but maybe seems worse because i am bothered by it.

For everyone who cares (which is probably no one) this is the anime that got me into the isekai genre and I still don’t regret it. Even if some people are tired of it I don’t seem able to get tired of it. On a side note it also gives the author a chance to explain some things because the main character doesn’t know what is common sense in the world they are in.

so excited for the slime journey, actually a gr8 guilty pleasure type of anime which is why most people like it, but its got great world building and characters so I hope Ruff enjoys it. Also heavily praised for its sound design and some fights.

the chat kinda lied to you my man the first 36 episodes are one big set up for the last 12 episodes od season 2 lol but none the less this anime is goated... like season 1 is all about world building since as flamo said rimuru has no clue as to what the world is about.. season 2 up to episode 12 is somehting i cant say without spoiling which is why i wont say and episode 13 to 24 season 2 is epic but again cant say without spoiling

Ive read the LN, and if you see it that way, all of season 1-2 is building up to what is coming in the next arc, its gonna get even more crazy. cant wait for the anime and manga to catch up!

I think your next isekai should be Overlord. If you like the craziness of that time you would like the craziness of Overlord. Overlord is my favorite isekai out there that I have watched. It is in my top 3 anime of all time. The only anime that I think can beat it are One Piece or Trigun. Even then it might beat Trigun. Overlord has the charisma of something like Slime, but it also has the mercilessness of something like Re Zero. After Slime you should give it a watch.
