Luffy x Hancock is my OTP they'd make such a cute couple. I know so many people ship Luffy with Nami or Robin but they're cremates & Luffy is known for seeing his cremates like family so I just can't see that ship become canon. But think about this back in Arlong Park Luffy could have listened & learned Nami's backstory from her sister but wasn't interested in hearing it. In this Arc Luffy not only listened to Hancock's backstory but asked for them to stop when he saw it was causing them pain to remember it. Just another reason for my ship

I think you misinterpreted luffy using conquerors haki once with he learned haki. Luffy has not used haki since that one match so far.

My head-cannon is that Luffy is asexual, and I think this arc really supports that. There are a couple of instances in the past (two that I can think of, around the Alabasta saga) where Luffy reacted to Nami (or Bon-chan as Nami) flashing the crew, but Oda himself has said that Luffy was only imitating Usopp in those situations. As a person who is ace myself, but wasn't really aware that it was a possibility growing up, I can really see a lot of that in Luffy. How it doesn't really seem to occur to him to see a situation as sexual (like in the bath scene, or when Hancock stripped to show him her mark), but also trying to mimic the reactions of someone like Usopp because he figures that's just what you do in that situation. I wouldn't try to push this view on anyone else, but it's really valuable for me to see him as ace. Most characters (at least that I've been exposed to) in media who are portrayed as possibly asexual are also cold, aloof, awkward, and even uncaring towards other people. So having Luffy, a literal ball of sunshine who is confident and loving and completely dedicated to the people he loves, also exhibit asexual traits really means a lot to me.

My OTP is Luffy x Nami because of their chemistry and a whole bunch of other reasons I won't state because of spoilers. I won't put too much hope on it though because I don't want to ever feel disappointment toward this series just because a ship wasn't canon. If Luffy does end up with Hancock at the end, it won't be the best-written romance Oda's written in the series (he did a real amazing job in that certain arc filled with sweetness, creating so much chemistry and parallels between those couples), but I'll be fine with it because it's still a cute ship and Hancock is indeed really likable.

yeah haki is something you cant use if you dont have conscious control over it so even though he has it that doesnt mean he can automatically use it. He also doesnt even know he has it

Luffy is not asexual dont believe this nonsense. Oda literally said the only reason he didnt have Luffy get a nose bleed is because people would be like 'ehh' thats now what Luffy would do. He also said he has a bad side and is interested in hancock but not entranced by her. Luffy got a nose bleed twice from Nami and Oda said its because when he is with Usopp, its like two kids at a sleep over, they bring out each others bad sides.. so everything that says is Luffy is def into women, he just doesnt care right now because he has other goals.

I really don’t know how you can see the scene in that episode and not believe that he is ace and to call it nonsense makes it feel even more biased. The def of asexual is also LITTLE to no sexual attraction so even with those 2 moments it’s not like it’s impossible for him to be on the ace spectrum. There is also 0 indication that luffy is interested in Hancock so I have no idea where you got that from or when oda said that. Considering how rare asexual rep is (as an ace person I’ve only ever found 3 including luffy) its just plain offensive for it to be completely disregarded

You don't have to agree that he is ace spectrum, but saying that it is nonsense is disrespectful. It is not insulting to suggest Luffy has shown qualities that are suggestive of asexuality, because being asexual is not a negative thing. I'm not interested in getting into an argument, I would just like to suggest to you that for some people (like myself) it is very meaningful to be able to identify with a character like this, and that calling it nonsense can be hurtful or even harmful. There are better ways that you can express your opinion.

It's very possible that Luffy has just put any sexual desire on the backburner while he fights for his dream, but I just want to point out that that is not what asexuality is. You don't just 'stop' being asexual, it's an orientation. If after he reaches his goal he shows that he is interested in other people sexually, it will just mean that he wasn't asexual at all but just had other priorities and the focus to ignore any attraction he felt in the past.

Getting a nosebleed isn't a little attraction. Seems like he has a relatively normal attraction level to women, he's doesn't lose control of himself or act creepy. Which make sense since it'd be kinda bad if the only way you could tell if someone was straight is if they acted like a giant pervert. Not exactly great representation if that's how they wanted to do it.

The ratio of asexuals to the rest of the species is so low it's statistically insignificant. That's not an insult to you, by the way. It's simply a fact of nature. Celibacy has its place in every culture, don't worry. And regardless, Luffy not being overtly like Sanji doesn't make him asexual. Zoro isn't obvious either, but he's clearly straight. i dont think he or she is trying to be offensive towards asexual people. it's just that oda himself has never said that luffy is asexual and its just something that the fans have inferred from luffy's behaviour and is taking to be true. there's quite a lot of debate concerning this which may be why he or she is saying 'nonsense,' because people spread this information that may or may not be true. there would obviously be nothing wrong with luffy being asexual and even if he is, there is still a spectrum so it doesnt necessarily mean that he can never feel sexual attraction. but yh

Personally I dont think Luffy is Aesexual, but at the same time I wouldn't get upset if thats how it turned out either. Oda has implied otherwise stating things like ussop brought his "bad side" out in Alabasta during the happiness punch. Or that he was interested in Hancock in the bath scene just not entranced but thats all there's never been a definitive answer. My OTP is Luffy x Nami after my guy is crowned king in the future and has time for things other than his current 10 year long obsession. Not Marriage but Lovers. Traveling the world together and having adventures till the end of their days. Their relationship as Nakama would hardly change at all. While I love Hancock I dont actually see that pairing working out at all. But hey that's just my opinion. See Luffy as Aesexual if you want or ship him with whoever you want. Nothings stopping you until Oda says otherwise and even then you have your own head canon if you disagree.

I like that OTP. its sweet. as an asexual myself, I get really happy over seeing main characters like me. That all said I still have my own ships. I like NamixZoro. Oda has often put all the strawhats into family unit scenarios and has expressed that he's not into the super romantic side of things, so we probably won't have any pairing in the series. He tends to use romance as a jokes, for side characters, or for people in backstories. Its kinda similar to his stance on mothers.... so we probably won't see or ship become real. But this is nice too, we can dream away! Also asexual doesn't mean you can't be romantic. we still have relationships, just sex is a backburner topic, thats all.

It's because Nami lost her mother to a villain in front of her eyes. It's not because Nami is into men. Mr. 2 is not important because he's an okama. Mr. 2 is important because although being enemies with the Straw Hats in Arabasta, he sacrificed his freedom to ensure their escape.
