i just check the first ep from the old higurashi and the ep is mostly the same,espesially in the first 10 minutes

So after a quick comparison the show is essentially the same apart from the whole trapped door scene, the find the marker scene (in the original they play the card card game which they reference in this one) and the scene right at the end with Rika is new.

Its the same studio that did season 4 of high school dxd. About other people in school - they were playing after lessons, its a small town, so amount of people in school is not big.
