Hello there again!

We’ve got so many new and exciting updates to share!

  • Opening animation
  • New staff and voice actors
  • Game progress
  • Merch and expected delivery

Animation

Starting with the most exciting, an opening animation is in the works for Repurpose! The music is going to be composed by Pedro Osuna, who did music composition on Klaus. He and his partner are doing the opening song for free while using some of the additional funds to pay a singer to add vocals to the opening.

To prepare for that and give the musicians a reference point to compose the song, I took it upon myself to storyboard a rough animatic! It was a sort of new territory for me, but in the end, I was pleased with what I was able to do, having novice experience in storyboarding.

I know the limits of my own abilities, so actual animation will be handled by one of the new staff members who have gone/are in school for it.

New Staff and Voice Actors

We’ve been adding new people to assist in the project! Some of the people included

  • Color artists: In charge of coloring/rendering in-game CGs and sprites
  • Monster designer: In charge of designing monsters/geists.
  • Programers: in charge of coding, fixing bugs, and designing mini-games
  • Animators: in charge of animating the storyboards
  • VFX Compositor: in charge of creating the final image of the opening

It's a huge relief to have programming taken off my load. Trust me, if you took one look at my spaghetti code of if statement, it's just a big ol' mess. Oof. A big oof.

Also, we’ve cast voice actors for quite a few of the characters! Some were pre-selected before the KS and others, namely Rosita and Mitts, we held auditions for.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be holding auditions for the characters Noel and DJ Roadkill, followed by Cheri and their feminine, agender, and masculine forms. Additional voices for side characters may be added but will most likely be chosen from the pool of actors/actresses from previous casting calls.

Game Progress

As with most visual novels, the main appeal comes from its story and art. As of right now, We’ve finished outlining all but Cheri’s route. Once that route is mapped out, the writers will begin scripting the events under Eros’s (mine) supervision. It's been a lot of fun these past few weeks sitting down with the writers to map out the stories, how they intertwine with each other, and the jokes along with soft moments to make the game more as/more fun as people had with the demo.

Visuals on the other hand have been a bit slow, partly on my end since I spent most of my time on the storyboards and reference sheets for my art assistants (and myself since sometimes I forget how to draw my own characters) but I did manage to get two new sprite bases inked of Rosita, Mitts, and Fayebael for my colorists to fill in!

I can get more done in terms of art now since the coloring has been taken off my shoulders, hopefully!

Merchandise

We have all but the keychains at my disposal as of right now! I predict they will arrive sometime within early October and I can begin shipping physical rewards as early as November! Just in time for the holidays.

As you can see, my room is a disaster! At least I have my Rosita dakimakura to cuddle with at night while I sort everything out~
