Nick You don't focus on the screen and your joke to much.. haikyuu has a good story. I hope you more pay Attention plz T.T

원 지

The last game is deuce. When two teams are tied, one team wins two points in a row.

"i dare somebody to name this entire team" you're right, i could never remember oikawa tooru, iwaizuumi hajime, matsukawa issei, hanamaki takahiro, watari shinji, kindaichi yuutaro & kunimi akira off the top of my head. anyway, you're right, haikyuu definitely is a great introduction to sports anime. having watched a good handful of them i'd personally put it at the very top; it's beginner friendly, realistic in terms of the gameplay, and has a very well-written story & characters. watching these 4 episodes back to back was DEFINITELY a good idea, and with the next one, that'll be season 1! reminder to watch the first OVA before starting season 2, there's a few different titles but as long as it has the name "Lev" in it, that's the right one. i will say though that while it's definitely understandable why you're so hyped watching this series, you do seem to talk over quite a bit of what happens & dialogue...this may be "just" sports, but there's also lots of story and character development that you don't want to miss. and especially since you're not that familiar with the rules yet, i'd suggest at least pausing more often and/or rewinding when you comment on things. hope you & live are having a lovely day/night!

Man the last episode got me. Best sports anime out of all the ones I’ve watched. This anime really shows you how great teamwork and perseverance can get you to greater heights even though sometimes you lose. But like sensei said, if they don’t get up then you’re proving your weak. Haikyu’s writer definitely knew what quotes and right words to say at any point of the show to inspire and motivate the teams. I love Haikyu man ❤️

Handler One

Damn this translation took one of my favorite Nishinoya quotes out. I was looking forward to it and the moment just flopped for me, but maybe it wasn't the correct translation this whole time. "If we fall, let's fall forward!"

amber 2047

Ah Haikyuu… even after reading the whole manga and watching very season multiple times I still get nervous and anxious when watching the matches. I know every match outcome but they do a great job at getting you wrapped up in the game that you feel like you’re there experiencing it with everyone. It just keeps getting better and better from here, I can’t wait for you to meet next seasons new characters.

stephanie johnson

I will never understand the people who watch this anime and call it mid but say blue lock is peak sports anime

Wild Wesley

Tsukki didn’t “know to hit there cause of the way Kageyama set.” The opposite is true. Kageyama had previously been setting in a way to control the way the hitters hit the ball, which speaking from experience is incredibly annoying. Tsukki wanted a consistent set that didn’t force him to hit a certain way so he could slowly bait the Libero into getting out of position so he could hit the ball deep. Plus the Kageyama/ Fish joke makes more sense on Crunchyroll cause they explain it better but basically tobiuo means flying fish so when Suga said Kageyama was like a fish in water, Yamaguchi and Tsukki imagined him as a flying fish cause his name is Tobio

Wild Wesley

i hope you go back and rewatch the episodes on your own again and preferably on Crunchyroll where I think the translated subtitles are better and make more sense. You were kinda missing the point a lot during some of the episodes.

Wild Wesley

Yeah I noticed him being confused on which team was scoring and which team was winning a lot.

Thiivi

Seasons 2 and 3 are even better in almost every aspect! Look forward to it!

Matthis

And fuck :(

Adam

Don’t wanna sound ungrateful and all but there was 1 more episode of the season

Adam

Haikyu is a really good show but some people prefer Blue Lock. It isn’t as cliché, it’s more unique and has its own twist on a sports anime which many do prefer. The Haikyu anime is definitely better but the Blue Lock manga definitely takes it. It is literally outselling and performing one piece, JJK and chainsaw man which is an incredible feat of itself.

Yashona

The script, dialogue, and wisdoms are Godly. You can learn so much life lessons from watching this volleyball anime and apply it in our lives.

Mitch R

Wtf 4 episodes? It's not Christmas yet Nick

Vailing Bow

Kage means shadow Nick, lol. Kni...nif...nice! That always gets me XD Hay Nick. Doesn't listen XD When it's 24-24 whoever scores 2 points in a row wins. Tsukki did kinda bow. It was just not low at all. Also, when you're gonna do season 3, you better make that whole season Haikyuu week!

tom leier

Sorry to ask here. Did something happen with mushoku tensei? I thought there would be stream yesterday

I think that the sport makes the difference, football is so much bigger than voleyball, so people watch what they would watch in real life too. They are missing on an amazing anime, but maybe not understanding the sport in the first place makes it that they don't wanna watch it.

2023-11-26 12:55:11 you are my favorite reacter but you are doin the same mistakes than most of the haikyu reacters. you dont understand the rules in some moments and you dont know what is going on or who gets the point. Just read yourself into the rules for 5 minutes, or watch a real game for 5 minutes, you and your viewers will enjoy it 1000 times more. (I dont want this to sound rude, but I am german and my english is not the best) Hope you dont get it the wrong way. keep it up

as always i really enjoyed this video thanks for uploading nick much love from the netherlands

You are one of the only reaction youtuber I watch and the only patreon I joined . Love your reaction and huge respect on the amount of contents you dropping but recently It felt like you are tired and forcefully to make it entertaint and joke too much at least it seems like that to me and kinda talk over too much. It is your content so I respect everything you drop but I think it will still be fun and entertaining to watch even if you dont keep yourself so hype up and just react to it genuinely. Hope those tight schedule do not burn you up and stay awesome! Sorry for my broken English, support from Japan!

Arcane Pengi

Will you be watching the Hunter x Hunter movies? There are two movies that take place in the middle of the story. I don't want you to miss out on more HxH if you didn't know they existed 🙏

tictac1997

Hey Nick. I know Crunchyroll has issues screenrecording but the subs from the site you're using feel like a completely different experience than Crunchyroll's, feels like a lot of meaning is lost in the deeper scenes. I can imagine it's a bitch to get working but if you ever manage, know that you'll be in for an even better experience :) Much love from Sweden, these reactions are goated and I'm so glad you like the anime!

The Va of Daichi is Kyojuro too <3

Lmao they didnt explicity explained that you need to have 2 points ahead of the other team if they both get to 24 so yeah I was confused too, and he just didnt saw if it was out or in sometimes but bro eyes are done with all those reactions, they should explain the basics so we dont have to google it

titofox

In volley, when you enter in "deuce" (like when they where 24/24) whoever surpasses the points by 2 is the winner, thats why they keep playing even when Karasuno was 24/25

zoro

excited for the rest of the sessions

stephanie johnson

yea I get that. But I just don't understand the people who trash on haikyu while praising blue lock like its peak fiction

Secretly

You're right nick, it doesn't get better than this ! And please try aniwatch.to or another website, those subtitles were horrible.

Secretly

Haikyuu is realistic, Blue Lock makes absolutely no sense... especially from a sports POV, as a soccer fan my whole life I couldn't get past ep 3.

Wild Wesley

Right! I kept thinking why the subtitles made them sound like they were speaking so weirdly and stilted

Wild Wesley

They do explain it in the show. Nick just talks over it or forgets. That’s why so many people were complaining that the beginning was boring because they had to do double duty of explaining the rules and introducing the characters.

Wild Wesley

I’m not good enough to tell which is technically more correct, but translation is an art more than a science. These subtitles didn’t do as an effective job of conveying the meaning behind the words as well as others I’ve seen. So even if that Noya quote, which is also one of my favorites, isn’t technically accurate, it still is a better quote than what he said in this version.

Abigail Jerry

The boys gonna come back betta than ever ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

I'm happy nick is reacting to this but it's annoying that he misses all the small humor/comedy this show adds on. His reactions kinda looks forced and that he isn't really enjoying this anime and more focused on adding commentary that it's killing the beauty of this anime... Personally, I'd rather him watch this alone and enjoy this anime than giving out forced reactions.

707

The one with glasses standing in the stand who teaches Yamaguchi jump float serve says they need 2 consecutive points to win the game (just when they tie over 24 points you can rewatch that part) . That's explicit enough for viewers to understand unless you talk over that part just like Nick lol

roo

i said bless u when u sneezed and was like what if he said thanks. i got surprised when u actually said thanks hahaha.

AppleOfMyEye

Couldn’t agree more! He doesn’t need to react to every single moment but just wish he didn’t force it. It’s actual getting uncomfortable, I really like Haikyu and excited to see Nick’s reaction but if he’s not enjoying it I rather he drop it and use that extra time to rest since he has plenty contents dropping already.

Anonymous

The translations on this site really sucked tbh. Hopefully Nick can fix it to where crunchyroll will record properly.

Anonymous

One of the reasons why they have Shimada or whoever explaining volleyball stuff in the stands is to inform people that aren't familiar with volleyball the rules of the sport or the concepts of it or what's happening so people can understand

Phyllis

There is why Haikyuu is so loved and recommended by people. Even real volleyball players and Olympic players have watched it and loved Haikyuu. Just saying. The Seijoh main coach wants players to look for solutions themselves when encountering one, that is why he doesn't say much unless they are stuck then will he step in. Tsukishima did bow with his head, but he did not do a 45 degree bow like the rest.

Jesus Lujan

glad you liked this, Haikyuu along with Ping pong the animation are the best sports anime out there. And even some of the best anime out there in general. Haikyuu is an anime that makes your sad at times but you always end up with a bigger heart. There's no one you dislike even amongst opponents, lots of motivating but realistic moments, lots of suspense and joys, truly a feels good anime.

Wild Wesley

Hey Nick and anyone who is watching Haikyuu along with Nick for the first time and doesn’t know much about volleyball, I highly recommend checking out Coach Donny from Elevate Yourself on YouTube. He has great reactions to Haikyuu that explain a lot of what’s going as a volleyball player and coach and he also has an artistic background as well so he often talks about the animation as well. I recommend watching his reactions to season 1 before getting into the OVA or season 2 if you’re still struggling with understanding the rules or just want a perspective from a real volleyball player. I’d just be careful if you watch his playlist of episode reactions cause he made a mistake early on and accidentally reacted to an episode of season 4 when he was still on season 1 so to avoid spoilers, make sure you skip the one marked season 4.

Idk if anyone said this yet, but two quick things: In volleyball, reaching 25 points isn't the only requirement for winning a set, you gotta score at least 25 points and have 2 point lead. (i.e. 25-23, 26-24, 27-25, etc...) And in volleyball, if your team was the last one to touch the ball and the ball falls out, then it's point for the other team (even if your team's last touch was a block touch).

Anonymous

Will you continue to watch haikyuu?

707

Wow.. I didn't think I'd fin coach donny fans here.. I'm a huge fan...his reactions for haikyuu is very apt ...

Lapisstories

I was also confused by the translation, like on when Nishinoya was motivating the team, it was a good line.

Lapisstories

Wow, I still cried. Rewatching this made me realized how Kageyama was looking at Kunimi and amazed by how much his development had been.

Jenniee

I had a haikyuu face during covid so I could probably name all the characters that play 😭seijoh’s are Kunimi, kindaichi, oikawa, iwaizumi, watari, hanamaki and matsukawa. Where’s my pay check?? 👀

Nagi

but ayolaxzone still best haikyu reacter :)

Ben

nick please listen when i say you will fucking love hajime no ippo! i know you already know about it and like the ops i think so just sending out a reminder

God, these translations are atrocious. They ruin the supposed impact of the lines. AHHHHH
