Fun fact: The reason Emilia didn't question the "cars and boys" line is because the Japanese word for car is "Kuruma", and used to be written as "来る魔" using the characters "approaching" and "devil/evil spirit" due to how a car looked coming at one with its headlights on and how fast they were, the Japanese likened them to demons. The "ma" (魔) character is also used for the Japanese word for witch 魔女 (majou). So to her, he didn't warned her to watch for "cars and boys", she interpreted it as "approaching witches/demons/evil spirits etc and boys" Japan LOVES wordplay like this.
