Does anyone else think that nick should react to a full anime in dub at some point? I don’t think nick has actually seen anything in dub properly, unless you count an out of context ghost stories vid, and whenever he has encountered dub he’s automatically like dub bad. I just think he should I watch at least one show in dub for the experience of it, not like some random isekai but something with a high quality dub like space dandy, cowboy bebop or samurai champloo.

Hey Nick some advice from a major weeb. Since you’ve started watching re:zero some advice to make the experience better for you is First don’t watch the directors cut for first time through it ruins a certain experience in one of the episodes! Stay away from it until you’ve gone through once already. Second don’t react to “requiem of silence” until after ep 15 or 16 trust me on this one it’ll ruin your experience if you do. And lastly don’t watch the movie memory snow until after the first season is over or after ~ ep 18 it takes away from the experience

High quality dub are average compared to japanese voice actor imo. But i'm sure nick would enjoy samurai champloo, even with dub ! This anime is so good.

Well imo the highest quality dubs can certainly compare with there Japanese counterparts and sometimes surpass them in very rare cases. I do feel like you don’t realise bad voice acting as much with a language you don’t speak so that definitely plays a part into why anyone can watch mostly all subs but most dubs are considered cringe or trash simply because you understand when someone sounds off, obviously this isn’t the only reason and they’re definitely some god awful ones out there lmao. And for the why, it changes things up, give nick and the viewer a different experience especially when some anime can really benefit from a dub due to the setting for example where accents and nationalities play more of a part. Idk I just think it would be nice to see.

I strongly advise against reacting to mushoku tensei. The protagonist is a pedo (reincarnated into a young boy but that doesnt excuse ist) and he literally seduces and fucks an minor. Animation and Soundtrack are Top-Tier, dont get me wrong, but its just way to weird imo.

He was the one who was seduced in the end though? And besides it’s fiction which is set in the middle ages, there’s worse things that happen yet the line is drawn at a morally gray zone. You don’t have to like that particular bit or the MC. but imo it’s no excuse to throw away the whole story. Besides the whole journey is about growth and maturity the upcoming second season and onwards there is no more controversial stuff as far as i’ve read the light novels.

English is not my native language, i've seen cowboy beebop, it's an amazing show ! if you have a link of a dub who's better than sub ! send me the link i want to hear it haha Also, i don't think we need to understand the language to judge the voice acting, i think it's the same as listening to a song from another country, you don't need to understand the lyrics to feel the emotion in the voice ^^

I get where you’re coming from but for me I feel it’s easier to notice bad voice acting with English than any other language, not too sure how to explain it but you just know it doesn’t sound right. Idk I haven’t really seen many subbed anime that after a first listen I’m like “that sounds awful, can’t watch that” so it’s probably the combo of me not picking up on stuff I would if it was in English combined with the quality of voice acting for anime on average just being much higher in Japanese(who would’ve guessed lol). Besides dragon ball the definitive dub over sub for me is space dandy, it’s a comedy made by the creator of both cowboy bebop and samurai champloo. Animated by studio bones with amazing animation and a great soundtrack. I’m not sure where you live but it might be on your Netflix, I live in the uk and it was on there for a bit but was taken off. It’s not on crunchy either, best bet is probably 9anime if you’re interested I’m sure they’ll have it on there. Bit of trivia to, it was the first anime to ever release its dub before sub.

Thank you for the recommendation, the animation looks god-tier ! And you are right, the voice actors are as good as the Japanese for this anime. A lot of people told me FMA Brotherhood was also top-tier dub, but i was not really impressed, so i was not expecting anything from space dandy, but it's perfect, best dub i've ever heard ! I might watch it if i have some time ^^ ! i'm going to bed, good night , it's time to sleep for french people !
