A lot of people dont like greed island, but dont worry, just like everything in HxH is not JUST collecting cards. iI think you will enjoy the twists and things that happen. I really like it myself. FR i always forget that this Arc exist. But it is not bad its pretty awesome and some nice Character development is happening. So enjoy it Bro. BTW Skyrim,World of Warcraft and GTA 5 are existing more than 10 Years now and people still playing them.

This arc is 15 episodes long, so whether or not you end up liking it, it flies by pretty fast (and no don't worry, the cards are not at the center of the plot lol, tho they're def the main aspect of this world). At any case, you'll for sure find the fights to your liking. By the way, each arc of HxH could be a whole manga in itself, the world changes, the characters, but also the tone, thematics, and even writing style. The best way to navigate this whole oeuvre in my opinion is to take it as a huge adventure, enjoying every detour (wink) and let yourself be guided by whatever Togashi's trying showing you, because you'll always end up getting something valuable out of it. One Piece, which I believe you'll discover soon enough, is kind of like that too. Thanks for the reaction !

IMO, this arc is kind of boring for the most part, but it leads directly into the next arc(which has the best parts of this show) and it has a couple of important stuff in it too

This arc is a development arc for Gon and Killua. Its extremely important since its the major training arc, and its really short

Each arc has its perks and theme. I like this arc for the typical adventure, hxh style. It's all happy with Gon and Killua's friendship and game-play. Very battle-ready like the hunter exam. But that's why it's an important arc, you'll see a contrast in friendship dynamic and plot between this arc and the next one. Prepare yourself lol. There's a lot to appreciate that I never realized before I binged the whole series. Just like another commenter said here, the elements and writing style change each arc but it's all a masterpiece in my opinion if you understand how in-depth this was written. Enjoy! <3

Naa the next arc (wont say the name for spoilers) has great moments if not some of the greates moments in anime, but it also has some of the most boring episodes ever in anime history, it suffers from the great problem that hunter as a whole suffers, adhd, shit is just all over the place, it's brilliant, but also shit at the same time

Plz dont get me wrong, I love hunter hunter, but it is not a masterpiece with in depth writing. Its literally all over the place, and it only gets worse as it goes on wich is understandable considering everything surrounding the mangaka, its like fever dream after fever dream follow by plotholes and shit he forgot followed my masterpiece episodes and complex writing followed by "I forgot my own god damn system and rules"

I agree. The next arc has some of the most emotional and badass moments, but the arc as a whole is too long and the way they change the role of the narrator kinda annoys me. I prefer show don’t tell story telling. I won’t say more to avoid spoilers.

The news anchor comment about the prize potentially being a Dragon that grants a wish, is a direct reference to the Dragon Ball franchise. Hunter x Hunter references a lot of other manga/anime but especially Dragon ball and Togashi’s previous work Yu Yu Hakasho. You can really see it in a lot of the character designs. Also Hunter x Hunter is a very gender queer show. It’s awesome how progressive it is in that regard, especially given when it was made. If the characters use a specific pronoun to address a character, just go with it even if they don’t look like you expect and you’ll be fine.

Well I respect your opinion but I’m also a writer and English major. I didn’t like the next arc the first time I watched it. Hated it. But when I studied the writing elements like foreshadowing and plot organization for an assignment at school, it was actually well crafted and I aspire to write like togashi one day. This is my opinion too though so please respect it.

greed island is good, it grew on me a lot. I didnt like it initially. And after chimera, it really doesn't hit just as hard. But that being said it's a great arc to bridge into stuff. The training wheels are coming off
