This was literally the first time, where Naruto hit me the most. I remember sobbing like crazy cause I liked Asuma, he was a great character. Seeing this now with Shikamarus regret. That just hits me once more. Rest in peace Asuma 🚬

Every time Ino screams "sensei" gets me every time and seeing Shikamaru crying as the smoke is in the air crushes me 😢 No matter how many times I watch so emotional. Both the Third Hokage and Asuma died on the same number episode 80. RIP Asuma Sarutobi 🙏🏾 1:26:14 Ironic that Nick mentioned last words when that's the episode title too

This was easily the hardest hitting deaths in Naruto, I feel. The way they handle it, its so dark. And even though he's a character that was pretty much a background character, the story still made you care. And though yeah even if we could see it coming with all the foreshadowing they were doing, with all the talk of the "sacrificial piece", it still hit hard when it actually happened. Please, there is some filler coming up that is important to watch, so please don't skip that. Its so well done and necessary. RIP, Asuma.

Oh man, the next episode (81) is as emotional (potentially more) than the end of the fight of Gaara and Rock Lee. The quality of the VA and the way it is written is just so poignant and impactful. Makes me cry every time.

I still feel bad for Izumo and Kotetsu. Stuck in a defensive position for most of the fight and folks complain "they aren't doing anything", as well as having to fight someone that way outclasses them. But no, they'll be seen as weak and useless.

I forgot how weak everyone but the main characters are.... this fight is so weak compared to ones in later seasons and the powers are so weak... no one uses weapons in later seasons cause they are to weak to hurt anyone.... Old Naruto Shippuden seasons like this are terrible cause we know where it ends up and guys like shikkmaru and Asuma and the other 2 no name characters are useless after this arc
