synopsis: The comic starts with a flashback of when Simon was a child and in the care of his abusive father. His father shows him to an off-screen Tommy, and says "The state of that piss-stained fucker, not even death would want him". The flashback ends and we see adult Simon, significantly more beaten, and with a cloth gag shoved into his mouth. Roba leaves the room to let Vernon speak to him before they "put him in the ground". Vernon reveals another motivation for him joining Roba was the promise that he'd be turned into a monster by one of Roba's vampire friends. Simon laughs, which causes Vernon to take off his gag, leading to Simon biting his hand and calling him "fucking pathetic". Vernon then strikes Simon across the face with a nearby wrench, knocking him out.
