Chapter 1745: Notice Released

Doctor Mi nodded, "Don't worry, I understand."

He changed his clothes and hurriedly left the room.

After all, he hadn't been out for a long time, and Doctor Mi was a bit excited.

At this moment, a few people started to come out onto the street, including the woman that Shu Yu had encountered, as well as many families who couldn't bear the fear caused by the bandits. They all headed to the county office to inquire about the situation.

But when they reached the entrance of the county office, they were met not by the usual officials and constables, but by some unfamiliar faces. What's more, among these unfamiliar faces were a few individuals with disabilities, some of them even missing a hand.

Although these people had disabilities, their expressions were solemn, making it difficult for people to approach them.

The crowd stood outside and whispered to each other, no one dared to approach.

Doctor Mi, however, quickly realized that these people were likely the victims rescued from the bandit's den. Looking at their appearance, Doctor Mi sighed inwardly. They had suffered greatly; those rebels were truly ruthless.

Just as he was thinking this, Doctor Mi suddenly saw a familiar figure coming out of the county office.

He was taken aback for a moment and quickly pushed through the crowd to approach, "Yuangui, Yuangui, what are you doing here?"

Yuangui followed the voice and, upon seeing Doctor Mi, was also surprised. He raised his hand slightly and said, "Doctor Mi, wait a moment, I'll post the notice first."

Doctor Mi widened his eyes in disbelief. Yuan Gui was actually posting the notice?

Since yesterday, after following Shu Yu to the county magistrate's private residence, Yuan Gui had been helping Lu Wu over there.

He had spent a few days in this county town, so he wasn't very familiar with it, but he knew the basic streets and some iconic locations. Yesterday, Xia Yi had gone ahead to find County Magistrate Cheng in the county town, and Lu Wu and the others who followed were not familiar with the area. It was Yuan Gui who led them over.

Later on, he led Lu Wu and the others to the abandoned mansion and helped Meng Yunzheng clean up the mess.

Up until this morning, Yuan Gui hadn't been able to rest. He was quite energetic because he knew that Jiang Kuanyu had died. That scoundrel had almost cost him his life, but now he was alive while the other side had suffered the consequences.

An hour ago, Lu Wu had returned to the black market with a few people. Yuan Gui wanted to follow and see Jiang Kuanyu's body for himself. However, since his injuries hadn't fully healed, Lu Wu had refused him.

As the county office was short-staffed, Yuan Gui intended to finish his tasks here before going back. He didn't expect to run into Doctor Mi, so he quickly posted the notice before approaching him. However, Doctor Mi had already read the content on the notice board, and other people who were still hesitating outside the door also rushed forward.

Being pushed away, Yuan Gui sighed, "..."

He might as well wait a bit longer.

Doctor Mi quickly scanned the notice; just as miss Lu had said, the notice didn't provide all the details. It simply stated that all the bandits had been captured, so everyone could relax and didn't need to stay indoors. However, General Huang, who led the operation against the bandits, was now clashing with them outside the city. There was a fear that the bandits might try to hide in Chenggu County, and to prevent harm to the people, the city gates would remain closed until General Huang emerged victorious. Lastly, the notice mentioned the collusion between County Magistrate Cheng and the bandits.
