Also, I'm excited for Ep. 5. The amount of ARMYs it's convinced not to believe the hate train on AHL...it's just great. It's a good episode. :)

I just love how these series puts a lot of things related to korean entertainment and idol culture into perspective. Although BTS did and still does (despite some armys not agreeing on this) a lot of things that would be considered typical in the "kpop idol culture", they did it with way more freedom than most of their peers. A not so popular opinion, but I kinda understand RM's friends here. Of course now that we know everything he accomplished and how he proved himself as an artist, it's easy to hear their words with disdain and even a certain aggravation. But from their point of view, back then, for all they knew he was a guy with great talent for rap and songwriting that was joining an idol group in an industry where this meant to be cute, dance, sing shallow lyrics and entertain teenagers. Let's not forget Bang PD was a former partner of JYP. Who could have known if he would follow the typical route for idols when he decided to debut an idol group instead of a hip hop one. Reality back then (and still now) is that dozens of groups debuted each year only to disband soon after. BTS is that once in a lifetime thing, but back then, given the circumstances , it's understandable people would question it. His parents worried, his teachers thought he was wasting his potencial to have a good career. Even RM struggled a lot, as seen here, with how he perceived himself and being conflicted between his identity as idol or artist. It's a relief he says he is no longer worried about that, as he sings in IDOL. Yoongi's vlog talking about having "a hard time" and having some not so great thoughts is heartbreaking. Same as JK's, talking about missing his parents, he was a kid. They gave up so much to pursue their dreams. I wish every new army would watch these series, specially those who only watch compilation videos on yt, in which sometimes there is a lot of wrong info and stereotypes on the boys. Many new fans believe Yoongi is a cold, blunt and rude guy because of those videos. This episode shows his sweet, grateful and loving side. They didn't have much back then, but he prepared gifts with cute handwritten notes to the fans. I wonder if they kept those :)

Bangtan is life

I actually love AHL, and I wish more people (armys) would watch the whole show instead of just believing what others say because it’s actually pretty good
