Bad & Great News (Patreon)

I hope you are doing great! I've got some mixed news that I'd like to share with you.

First of all, I'll just start with the bad news, the animation is gonna take a bit longer to complete, I've currently rendered a bit more than 1/3 of the frames (my pc is running 24/7 but a lot of the frames take 3-4 minutes to complete and a small part of them 1:30-2 minutes) so I hope until Thursday to have it rendered so I can add the audio and post it the next day. A day after the post I'll do the posters and then I'll work on the AotM which won't be finished by the end of this month.

The Great news, that will change everything, is that I've ordered all the parts for a workstation, now I'm waiting for them to arrive some early next week and the rest early November. This is a huge deal for me because I'm currently working on a 7yo PC running 16gb ram and gtx1070 8gb. I can't imagine what 64gb of DDR5 ram and a rtx4090 24gb can offer me to do. Plus plenty of storage (+6TB) because I've almost run out my 4.5TB so in total 10.5TB. Yes, blender animations take from 10-20gb in storage each! Oof!

What this means for you? Well, faster render times means less time to wait for animations and probably more animations. Plus I can animate a lot faster by using the viewport playback and not having to render a "dummy" (animation in low samples and resolution) so I can view the animation and make adjustments. Also less time into baking. I'll try cycles too for higher quality animations but I'll have to wait for the workstation to be complete. More ram means more assets on scene, more baked physics, etc. More graphics memory means higher resolution textures. Overall better quality and more animations.

If everything arrives by the end of the month I'll need a few days to build the system, install windows, drivers, programs and transfer some data. So I could squeeze another animation there for November. If the parts arrive on November and have done an animation by then I don't know If I could add a third animation. That's why if the part haven't arrived by the end of the month when I've finished with this month AotM I'll start November's PotM.

Anyway I'm really exited for this, and to try new things and do better stuff. I hope I didn't bore you!
