Updated Version 5/16/2024 Grocery Shopping List

Getting food in the Sims is way too easy. You click on the fridge, oven, microwave etc. and there's always an endless supply. Now, things are going to get just a little bit more challenging (aka realistic).

I present to you, My Grocery Shopping List Mod!

Found under the appliances misc category. The name is My Grocery List - Insimnia. The thumbnail looks like a white rectangle laying down.

HOW TO USE (RECIPE):

1. Download the Grocery List Mod below.

2. Download the recipe file attached at the bottom of this post. (MAKE SURE TO UNZIP THE FILE before putting in your Mods folder. Otherwise, it will not work!)

3. Click on the Grocery List to check what ingredients are needed. If you don't have them all, the recipe will be grayed out and your Sim will not be able to cook.

4. Make sure to click "open" on the ingredients if necessary, then put ALL of the required ingredients in your Sim's inventory or the fridge to "unlock" the recipes in the Grocery List Mod.

5. Once you have all the required ingredients, click on the Grocery List, and you are now able to click on the recipes.

6. For this particular recipe, make sure you have a microwave available. Even if you have the Hot Pocket already, the recipe will still be locked if you don't have one.

The Hot Pocket boxes are found under Appliances Misc. or just search "Hot Pockets" in the search bar ORRR you can download the updated version of the custom register since I added these items on there.

For the first set of recipes available in the mod, here are 12 different kinds of Hot Pockets for your Sims to enjoy!

  • Dragging it to the fridge will unlock the recipe for everyone in the household. If the Hot Pocket is found in a Sim's inventory, the recipe will unlock only for that Sim..

Some FYI

  • BTW the Big and Bold Hot Pockets have more calories than the regular ones since that's what it says on the nutrition label... and they'll actually be slightly bigger in size than the regular ones.

  • I used the Microwave Pastry as the clone for the Hot Pockets and for some reason, toddlers aren't able to eat it, they are just able to hold the plate (I'm not sure if toddlers are supposed to be eating Hot Pockets irl anyway). I tested giving the toddlers the actual Microwave Pastry and they can't eat it either. Not sure if this is a glitch or they just can't eat this specific item in general. I will try to use items that all ages are able to use for next time.

HOW TO INSTALL:

1. To download the Grocery List Mod, download the InsimniaMyGroceryShoppingList file.

2. Simply drag and drop the PACKAGE file directly to your Mods folder.

3. To download the Hot Pockets Recipes, download the Hot Pocket Recipes 8_27.rar file. You must extract/unzip the RAR folder first before putting it into your Mods folder. If you don't, you will not see the recipes

When I click on the grocery list to make food the only options that show up is “rice & pasta” and “frozen meals” and I can’t find any other option but on the register I can find everything

Hi, so I made sure my mod was updated and that my sim had every ingredient and it still just says frozen meals when I click the list ... also when i try to open any ingredient it just has orange circle that is next to open but it does not say " Open "

Hello! it means you didn't download any recipes that belong in different categories like "Desserts." Hello! I am having a small issue right now with the grocery list mod. I am able to cook things even when I do not have the ingredients. To my knowledge, I have all of your ingredients, recipes, and both this and cash register downloaded and installed. I have the simple life challenge on my lot but I've tested it without the challenge being on as well. The only items greyed out for me / unable to be cooked are the ones that require a microwave. Otherwise the game says 0/1 or whatever the amount needed is and is greyed out but I can still click on it and cook it. Do you know what may be causing this?

Are you sure this file InsimniaMyGroceryShoppingList.package is in your Mods folder?

i have a question. I am trying to make the hot pocket when I open the package it goes to my sims inventory and when I click on it all it says is place in world? how do I get my sim to cook it?

Hii, Im having an issue with the Grocery list. None of the recipes are showing up for me- i bought all the groceries testing to see if it was my end, and even removed the mod and reinstalled. It still does not show any recipes its all white and blinking. Now this could be something simple and i just dont know how to fix it, but maybe you can explain or help <3 Ty so much sweetie!

I have all the hot pockets, and the new register. When I click on the hot pocket, my sims doesn't take it to the microwave. When I drag it to place in in the world, my sims still doesn't do anything with the hot pocket. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, you have to click on the list, not the actual hot pocket. If you scroll up to the How it Works section, there's a step-by-step tutorial on how to cook the hot pockets. Please take a look at the Features section as well for additional guidance.

Hi, not a bother at all! If it's not showing, you might have a previous version of the grocery list mod in your Mods folder. Make sure you locate that and delete it. Keep just the latest version in there.

Hi I've downloaded this and the food for the recipes but I cannot find them in the game. I've enabled the custom content inside of the game as well. My daughter has tried on her own comp as well and it won't work for us. We aren't new to mods lol. Are we missing a step?

Hi sorry not sure what you mean. The grocery list mod is all you need to cook custom recipes. Just make sure you delete old versions every time you download the latest version
