OC-tober Collage ! (Patreon)

I have been meaning to make a post dedicated to this group image and the content contained within it. 

It was a self indulgent piece to commemorate hitting 100K on Twitter by drawing several of my ideas in one picture. Since I'm focusing on original content for this month, it seemed like a good way to kick off OC-tober.

Note: Some of these ideas have been more thought out than others, but I figure some context might be neat, even for the lesser ideas. I've also kept some summaries vague and abstract on purpose, both for mystery and because it's still a little bit of a mystery to me, as well!

RADD Roach -

Lately, Fallout has generally been the leading lady in my original character representation, and something of my mascot character at this point. This idea originated from a faux excerpt and extended action sequence I did for a comic anthology called "The Black Torch."

This story is set in an irradiated post apocalyptic world that is somewhere in the process of trying to rebuild itself and barely surviving, scraping together culture from the shattered remains of the old world, most of what had remained being relics from the ancient 80's and 90's. It is a cartoony yet violet world of mutants, monsters, and god-beasts. We find ourselves following the adventures of the hard-headed cockroach mutant girl Fallout, whose name comes from the radiation theme... as well as a couple of other reasons!

She's was a bit of a wanderer and loner for most of her life. That is, until she crossed paths with Blackbody, a mutant with a potentially catacylsmic power and mysterious origin. The two soon find themselves on the run, embarking on a totally rad and dangerous adventure.

UMA Monstergirl Wrestling -

While the exact title is to be determined, UMA doesn't only just stand for Unidentified Mysterious Animal, but in this case, Ultimate Monster Alliance! It is the biggest pro-wrestling league of monsters in the world, including monstergirls!  

This is a story I'll be focusing on the most these days. It's a fun idea to think about, and seems to win the polls here on Patreon in regards to original content that patrons seem most interested in ~

The character in the montage here is the ghost Crimson Mask Koujin. The first parts of the planned comic involves covering her origin story. I plan on making future posts this month about the UMA and its wrestlers, so expect to see more info in the near future!

Night's Knight -

The secret coven of witches in the town of Oddwood, a place of great spiritual power that had long since banned the use of magic and witchcraft, are orchestrating some sort of elaborate ritual that may put the entire town in danger. It's up to Hazel Sonata, also known as the Knight Witch, and her fellow secret witch school club members to stop the Moonlight Coven from enacting their ominous plans!

(The character here is one of the coven members, Wick Witch, who I like drawing the most,  and holds a key role in the story.)

Sword Slime -

This idea is about a young, friendly, and adventurous slime who ended up having a hero's sword stuck inside him. It's now become a key part of his identity. With his friend Gumshoe, they go on adventures in the land, as well as in their dungeon home. The daily life in the dungeon follows the stories of Sword Slime's neighbors and coworkers as they maintain and operate a dungeon that is frequented by adventurers.

I did a short no-dialogue comic for a contest last year, and serves as an introduction to the idea

This setting is one where I might compile any JRPG-esque fantasy stories in one way or another. One such example is...

Brave Buster Maylgeiz -

Playing off of the adventurous magical bikini armor trope of the late 80's and early 90's, this is a spin-off origin story about one of the key characters in the Sword Slime setting, the second in command boss of the dungeon, the enchanting Maylgeiz. 

Before she was a gazer-like monstergirl, she was originally a human. And not just any human, but a legendary magical bikini heroine known as Brave Buster Maylgeiz. 

Here we see her riding her trusty snapdragon mount, ready for battle and adventure!

In addition to stories for Sword Slime, it was fun thinking about the types of adventures Maylgeiz had back in her heroine days, and how they ultimately led her to her current position in life.

Stitchman -

A superhero with the power of uncanny sewing! You weep when he sews!!!

Cactus Canyon -

Initially, it seems to be a charming story, but it holds dark mysteries within. A potted cactus gains the power of sentience and mobility, and wanders a magical and mysterious canyon.

Table Guy -

I had a tendency to doodle this guy a bunch back in college and highschool. Something of just a simple drawing and silly mascot-like character. There's no real context beyond that, but may be handy for things in the future.

Gamma Rae -

A nuclear powered android power doll superheroine, who has to fight an incoming alien threat...

The Boggart -

A Boggart works for a massive living mountain of a demon known as Bump in the Night, kidnapping children for some sort of Infernal Machine. He is but a cog in the great machinations of the big plan, but eventually finds himself questioning the actions he is taking. 

Negative Space -

A dream-like journey through different aspects of the main character's psyche and memories, in a monochromatic style.

Rocket Crown -

Flying characters combating military forces and supernatural entities in the sky!

Petitank QT (Quick Tank T-4-2) -

An experimental tank with sentience finds itself teaming up with a fancy and elegant pair of conjoined twins from a traveling circus, and end up having to fight the other experimental tanks from it's former squad.

TJ Maximum -

Totally ready to throw down at a moment's notice, the demon known as TJ Maximum fights everyone and everything that's in his way !

Vulcan Heel -

Marin and her friends must save their already dystopian cyberpunk world from an impending grey-goo nano-machine crisis...

Kartika -

Flay the flesh of gods with their very own blades!

As the village of asura is at the edge of sacrifice to the unknown machinations of the gods, the impossible happens, as the young demon Astrasura manages to highjack one of the Kartika, a sacred blade of the gods, and brandishes it against them! Will this act of defiance be in vain, or will it bleed vains!?

Something with a bizarre aesthetic influence, I really was fascinated by the stylized and beautiful ultra violence and gore in Vajrayana Buddhist imagery in contrast to the core messages. While I didn't want to recreate that exactly, I wanted to try something that drew inspiration from it in it's own way.

Space Pirates, Jackal and Scout - 

The space pirates Jackal and Scout are seeking out the Ultimate Treasure! They find themselves in the ruins of a forgotten realm that seems to defy reality. They aren't the only ones seeking out the treasure. Will they be the first to discover it?

I don't normally share this many ideas publicly, and especially so early in development. 

But, I'm grateful for all of the kind support on Patreon and I figure that as a show of my gratitude as well I could share these.
