Question of the day: What’s your favorite meat? If you’re vegan, what’s your favorite meat replacement?

Dailymotion: Part 1 Part 2

Dropbox: Part 1 Part 2

Password: “suyuk”

Such an eventful day 2 IN THE SOOP!

We had a tennis/baseball game 😂, an intense RC race between Hobi and V, a quick(?) and smooth completion of Mario by Seok Jin 🎮, and a productive and mindful evening with Namjoon.

Our Chef Min Yoongi once again blesses the kitchen but this time with pork belly. 🐷 Meanwhile JK (by the reaction of the members) makes a very tasty Suyuk! 🍲

Plus so many more adorable moments in between!

Isn’t it so fun and interesting to see what activities each member chooses to relax with? Because they all had different activities, it feels like we could all learn something from their choices and try them out. ☮😌

Absolutely loved this episode 💜

And we’re so excited for the next episode but also so sad because you know…

Also ARE WE GETTING ANOTHER IN THE SOOP SONG? Suga said, “JK you ready”, and they peacefully walked to their legendary IN THE SOOP studio. 😳👏👏

P.S. familia have you seen the 2022 Seasons Greetings!?

- I'm a bit late in watching this, but I wanted to watch it on my own first, then a second time with the familia, and I've been a bit busy ^^ - I used to be a back sleeper when I was younger, then a side/stomach sleeper when I was a young adult - but after several surgeries in my stomach region and inherited back issues which I got from my mother, I have to sleep in a hammock to relieve the pain, so I'm back to being a back sleeper - qotd - I'm Korean, so, for me, beef is king, though I do adore any and all seafood (from sea cucumbers to shark to king crab - I've even had alligator, frogs, and snails/whelks and loved them) - however, when it comes to breakfast, I don't have much of an appetite - American breakfasts tend to be overly heavy in sugar and salted meats (I love bacon, but that much salt for breakfast isn't my thing), and it just doesn't suit my tastebuds, so I go with coffee until lunchtime - if I'm in Korea, though, I love a good big breakfast, with a big bowl of rice, kimchi, some radish soup, a grilled mackerel, and egg mari - kalguksu - there are many dishes in Korea that are made so you can easily swap out ingredients to your preference and regional availability, but specific parts are what make the dish - kalguksu (knife cut noodle soup) is definitely one - you can use any protein you want with a complementary broth - chicken makes it chicken noodle soup (;D) - but to make it kalguksu, it just requires the noodles in a broth - thick vs clear - like it's been mentioned, the noodles are dusted in starch to keep them from sticking together, which can thicken a broth - however, when they translated "thick", what they meant was cloudy (which is why the opposing team is clear) - even with the starch's ability to thicken liquids, there is far too much broth for the starch to actually thicken it - typically, if you want a clear broth, you boil the noodles separately in water, rinse them off in cold water, add to a bowl, and add broth carefully around the noodles - this keeps the broth clean and clear - however, team thick broth, you just dump the raw noodles in the broth and let it cook together - the end result is the same, though the broth is a bit cloudy due to the starch, and, as you eat, and the broth level goes down, it does start to thicken slightly - this is also why Jin chose to ignore JK's preference of clear broth, because "thick" broth is obviously the easier method, not requiring the extra step of cooking and rinsing the noodles separately - typically, clear broth is for show, thick broth is for the practical home cook - croffle - croissant + waffle - it's a trend in Korea right now, extremely popular - uncooked croissant squashed into a waffle iron, so it comes out with the buttery flakiness of the croissant, but crispy and chewy like a waffle - and can be used as a blank slate for whatever flavors you want to add to it, be they sweet or savory - smoked duck - duck is considered a protein rich food with many nutritional benefits - Jimin has been exercising a lot (as have all the boys), so he does need to eat plenty of proteins, like duck - all the boys have been eating duck more frequently (which they've shown on VLives and such) - I can't say whether or not they actually enjoy it, only they would know such things, but it probably has been recommended to them by their trainers/nutritionists/doctors - Jimin's breakfast of rice with eggs, duck, seasoned baby anchovies, and kimchi, is a very healthy breakfast (anchovies are chock full of vitamins, it's a tragedy more people don't eat them) with tons of protein, nutrition, and probiotics, though a bit heavy with salt (which is why you eat plenty of rice to go with it) - Koreans do have a tendency towards high blood pressure because of this, which is something I also struggle with xD - the spattering when you cook in oil comes from the violent reaction of water on oil - water and oil don't mix, they literally repel each other, which is why when water hits hot oil, it goes flying off, hence the popping and spattering - and this is also why, after some time, the oil spattering calms down - it's repelled the water, so there is nothing left to create that violent reaction - Leona, Fiona, Rachel - Leona is from League of Legends, Fiona is from Shrek, and Rachel is probably from Friends - JK was just naming the western female names he could think of ^^ - foot volleyball - I know it is played as a real sport in some countries, but I'm not sure if it's played professionally - the ball the boys are using to play it is a kickball - rubber air-filled ball - not a volleyball, not a basketball - it is softer on impact than a basketball, but not as soft as a volleyball, and has more bounce and give than either ball
