Hi Hi There.

This is a series of three maps that work well together. I will provide you with a story to use them in conjunction, but you can use them however you see fit.

Our heroes have been hired by a local merchant who has suffered numerous losses of cargo due to strange phenomena occurring in a section of the forest traversed by trains. Trains passing through this area often experience malfunctions, supplies disappear without a trace, and some conductors have reported seeing spectral figures and strange lights. Desperate for a solution, the merchant sends the heroes to investigate and resolve the mystery.

The first map focuses on a tranquil and seemingly ordinary lake, but with a dark secret submerged in its waters. This lake, surrounded by lush and ancient trees, conceals a gigantic stone skull that lies partially submerged in the center of the lake. Eroded by time and the elements, the skull is partially hidden by vegetation and the shadows of the surrounding trees, making it sometimes go unnoticed by less attentive travelers.

The stone skull is the remnant of a failed experiment conducted by an ancient civilization that inhabited this region over a thousand years ago. This culture, known for its deep knowledge of magic and arcane technology, attempted to create an artificial Guardian imbued with powerful magical energies to protect their sacred knowledge and people.

However, the experiment went wrong. The Guardian, once activated, became uncontrollable and posed a threat to both its creators and its surroundings. In a desperate attempt to contain the situation, the leaders of the civilization destroyed the Guardian. The head of the colossus was severed from the rest of the body and thrown into the lake, while the body was dismantled and hidden in different locations to prevent its power from being used again.

Nevertheless, the skull still emits certain vibrations that interfere with magic and some artificial processes. These vibrations are sporadic and depend on the time of day and the amount of magic or disturbances present in the environment.
