IU is my stan when it comes to solo artists. She is truly a genius and for me, no one comes close to how she can convey her emotions in the songs that she sings. Even though I don't speak and understand Korean, I feel like I understand what she is singing about. Her technique is also superior. The way she uses the microphone to add texture and color to her voice is unmatched and only world class singers know how to utilize the distance of the microphone to their mouth to enhance their sound. Of course, last but not least, She has one of the best voices in Kpop, even when she is belting it still sounds so sweet and never harsh to the ears. During her last comeback, she was also at Sketchbook. I'm not sure if you've seen it but here is a link. I recommend this live stage for Love Alone song (b-side from her Palette album), very underrated song but this live performance with just guitar (a quirky looking guitar) was superb! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnmSh1RYa5E Unfortunately she didn't perform the entirety of the song but it was the only live stage performance for this song.
