Well I don't know whether if he wanted to protect his mom,in my opinion,he found those assassins and the house where they practice,you know these assassins worked for the queen(his mom),and he killed them all and burned the house down,right?And so no one can find out this is the queen's plan(the queen planned to kill the crown prince),because if the King know this is the queen's plan,the King must be very angry and he will punish her,so Wang So killed them all and burned the house down,so nobody will find out this is the queen‘s plan,and the queen would be safe.In my opinion,this kinda like…he cleared up the mess for her mom?Or cover for his mom? I think so.

I think that's why he said, "I erased all traces of you." As you can see,the crown prince and Choi Ji Mong got there later,but they can only saw the house was burned already,so they can't catch any of the assassins any longer.(They got there separately from Wang So, Wang So got there first, and they didn't know it was Wang So who burned down the house)

Well because that princess is a bad woman, her character is supposed to be a villain from the very beginning, haven't you noticed? She's clearly a villain from the moment she first appears. She's always up against the heroine!
