I agree that after seeing the performance I like the song even more. The song is actually about not being able to fall asleep and getting annoyed by it. Subsequently getting more difficult to fall asleep and annoyed while you have to wake up early tomorrow. And yeah it doesn't really match the instrumental, which sounds a bit more retro and laidback to me.
