Yes you are right! Korean has so many different kinds of sentence-closing endings. And the song is using ‘하오체‘ and ‘하게체’ which are two of the ways of style that we don’t use it normally anymore. It’s from the past and if we use it now, it feels like old or acting. Now only some of the elderly people use it but we still can see it in a written way like writing novels etc. For example, if the narrator is old or if we want to express old vibes, we can use it. So the song’s narrator is a man in his 60s, that’s why the song use those styles. And plus the song itself is old. And fyi! IU also used it in her song called ‘Love Letter’ from the album ‘Pieces’!😆 If you listen to the song again with this knowledge, you probably feel the song differently..? Hope my explanation helps!

This is part of her explanation about ‘Love Letter’ song. (I just used google translation) The lyrics were written with the setting of the last love letter left by the one of an old couple who dies first to the other who is left behind. I also tried to act out the most repeated 'Dao' lyrics in a slightly different way for each part. The lyrics in the last paragraph, ‘I stay in you more than anywhere else,’ are the sentences that became the seed for the last track, ‘Epilogue’, in my 5th regular album . This is also what I want to say to my grateful fans who have known me for a long time, know me, and want to know me more. Between novels and letters, I close this collection of shorts with 'Love Letter', written with the sincerity I want to convey to those who love me.
