To be fair, Kiyoi didn't say "goodbye" after the first kiss, he said, "See you later," the literal translation would be more like, "again, right" so the implication was 100% that they would see each other again soon. :-)

Ok now that you're done I can comment. I feel like there's no point trying to convince anyone of Kiyoi's true intentions because it takes literally the last scene to learn them. I think this is one of my fav BLs cause I get tired of the same old story and I loved seeing complex characters that were messed up but found their version of love in the mess. I mean Hira crossed so many lines with his stalking behavior and Kiyoi was a jerk through most of the series so on paper you wouldn't expect a love story but it's that for whatever reason who they are is the exactly right person for the other. That is beautiful to me. Also rewatching this and seeing how the actor playing Kiyoi shows the character was always in love with Hira but you couldn't see it the first time cause he was such a dick that upon rewatch all the subtly in his eyes and mannerism is crazy impressive. Even just in the way he changed his tone when saying stalker and gross it went from derogatory to a term of endearment but you miss it the first time cause you don't know who he is and what he's about. Ugh I love it so much. It was refreshing to get something different and so well done. I believe they are getting a movie or some new project. They've also won multiple awards. The BTS are great and they also did a bunch of TikToks that are so funny. Seeing them as themselves is fun the actor that plays Hira is a goofball. It really shows their acting chops cause they are both nothing like their characters.
