40 minute video. First pass on it had the sound not record correctly, so I had to dub a new voiceover covering what I went over. This is what I'll link to whenever someone asks me if I have any tips for beginners.

Thanks!

The "Art Tips" Question

I decided to make a video while I drew digitally, addressing the question about giving tips to people who are starting out. I can't convey skill, but I can talk about behavior and priorities. The original video had the sound messed up and I had to redo the audio portion separately and lay it over the video, so one might notice, when I talk about signatures, it doesn't sync up with the example I put on the video. But alas, the words are still valuable. SFW Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/jrnarts NSFW Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/jaynaylor

Thank you jay !

I'm not a fan of tracing for the sake of copying a body part, but it's a powerful tool for quickly memorizing a specific shape or template. Tracing construction drawings is not a bad way to understand animal parts and poses. As long as you also practice freehand from memory and experiment with variation, you can learn complex form very, very quickly.

so, is it just 40 minutes of you saying "practise" over and over? XD ( I kid, of course. :P)
