I am a beginner to CP, but have lots of drawing experience. I am finding the tutorials very helpful, but I am frustrated with my results. My attempt at Jonesy's eye does indeed look like an eye, but I am struggling with not being able to use all the layers I feel I need. I do not have pastelmat to use but using what I have on hand (strathmore 400 mixed media; 300 bristol vellum, and 300 bristol) I think my problem is the substrate. I'm using a 36 set of Polychromos and Prismas. Enjoying seeing the real-time videos and the closeup instructions. Thanks.
