Hello to all my SGC members, hope you are having a great weekend :) It's finally time for another lesson, this time we focus on music theory again since we talked so much about technique in the last couple of weeks. I want to show you an approach and exercise concerning the circle of fifths that will help you greatly with your understanding of scales and visualizing them all across the fretboard!

As always I made some special files for all of you, below you can download a tab version and Guitar Pro file of the exercise with the keys added above. I also exported a practice backing track again with my guitar very low in the mix, that way you will hear mistakes since they will clash with the original take :)

Hope you have fun with this one, as always ask away if there are any questions!

Circle Of Fifths | Why Guitarists Need It In Their Life

Today we check out the circle of fifths and why guitarists need it in their life - we work on a little experiment, what happens when we keep the basic C major scale pattern up to the octave and adapt the accidentals of each key in the circle? The answer is revealed in the video, we see that all these scales are closely related and this observation allows us to acquire a better view and understanding of scales and visualizing them all across the fretboard.
