I think Thorfinn for sure has the best character development in anime

Beloved fans of one piece will always say that one piece feels like a never ending journey and ironically some wish it could be a never ending journey. Vinland saga feels like the journey of a man, a man who we see grow from his mistakes, who hopes to accomplish the impossible for the sake of making sure no one will suffer the way he had to suffer. Vinland saga is an anime that we are watching so that we can see the end! That’s what makes this anime/manga so special.

Great to hear that Mel pointed out Thorfinn's character development ( im not saying that Steph didn't but she's the one who brought it up :p), from the Thorfinn we knew as a child, what happened, the path of hatred and revenge he took wich was the only emotion that drived him to at least live, the "failure" to "redeem" himself with Askkelad wich marked him again into the new empty flask that went to slavery as a person with 0 social and mental abilities where we start to see from the most little glimpse of emotion to start growing from the greetings and being thankful to now where he actually starts to think by himself and we get to see that he is thoughtful on everything that is happening around him in a proper and respectful way, he actually starts to sound like a grown man and makes me feel so proud lol i love Thorfinn so much, im so excited that we are not even in the peak of the arc so that means pure content of quality left for the next 9 episodes &lt;3 PD: in my opinion from all the animes that i have seen i believe Thorfinn has the most human development out of all and i think thats why i feel so connected with him and this anime

I think Thorfinn still has so much potential to develop as a character. I feel as if there is going to be a point where he needs to fight to return to his family, or even fight to defend them. He might then be put to the test as a man who wants nothing more to do with violence, but he may not have a choice in that instance.

Yeah true. His current way of thinking is just not sustainable long-term. Remember that even his pacifistic father had to resort to fighting in order to protect others

Honestly only character that has really good character development like Thorfinn, would be Zuko from TLAB. (At least what comes to mind.)
