this first episode was one of the best first episodes I have seen in a long time. I have read past the first volume, but after seeing this, I don't want to read more after witnessing this masterpiece of an adaptation .

Man I was planning on bingeing Oshi no Ko anime when more episodes come out, but this first episode got so much buzz that I just had to watch it. Now I have to add it too my seasonal list and drop one of the seasonal anime I am watching to have time to watch them. I probably will drop Dr. Stone since I read all the manga anyway, so I can watch it on my own time in the future.

I personally think Oshi no ko is not as good a everyone makes it out to be. Many people are like "It's perfect" or "It's a 10/10", but I think it has quite a few obvious issues that just seem weird and make not much sense, + it felt rushed. So first of all. After the first 10 min, I already hated Ai. "Hate" might not be the right word, so over the course of the Episode it's more a "Dislike". I don't really like Ai because -I don't like Idols. -I don't like how she views lies aka ""Lies are the most exquisite love!"", it got explained later in the Episodes why she views lies the way she does, it makes it more understandable but not really better. -Then the pregnancy thing, because I think it's dumb to get pregant with 15-16. And I just mean "dumb" because of concern. Because my mother was basically a Single mother with me and my sister, so I know how rough it can be. Especially because my mother was left with many debts and a not really good paying job after the divorce. -And at the end the first "I love you" which felt pretty forced, because you knew "It's now or never" since she dies. Her death was sad, I would lie if I said it wasn't but it wasn't "that" sad. Because I just think overall there was just missing Character development for Ai. I didn't liked her, but I would've liked to see more of her. Because while Aqua was clearly the main character, Ai was the main focus. And there was still not much of her Character to see. It was basically the beginning, were we got a lot of her, and then basically the scene at the end. Everything in between was just some tiny sprinkels, since it mainly focused on Aqua and his point of view for the most part. And I think that is a pretty good thing about it, that I went from "I really don't like her" to "I want to see more of her", especially since I pretty much don't liked anything Idol related stuff at all. But welp, now she is dead, so that is over. And this is why I said "it felt rushed", it was basically the first 10 chapter which is the prologue, but I feel like Ai could've needed some more Character development. I think it would've been better if Aqua and Ruby had more interaction with Ai, where they actually do stuff together and have good Time. Build a good relationship on screen. Then you find out about the lie stuff. Then later you find out about why Ai never said "I love you" to her childs and then at some point she says it and means it. And at some point a bit later she gets killed. I think that would've been way more impactful then the way they did it now. Because like I said, there weren't many moments with Ai interacting with Aqua and Ruby really. It was more Aqua watch Ai from a distance. And then we have Ruby who was pretty annoying 90% of the time and then 10% basically the pre reincarnation stuff and otherwise it's sob story about her past towards the end. And I think it's just weird how that worked out. Aqua getting reincarnated as Ai's kid... sure, he died when Ai pretty much gave birth... but the Girl died like Weeks or Months before. And somehow her Souls or whatever just stuck around to be also reincarnated? Yeah... great coincidence. And I think it's also weird that the Girl got reincarnated as Ruby with a healthy body, but instead of making the best out of it, she doesnt really. She basically went from "Man it sucks that I am ill, I can't do anything, but I want to be like Ai" to after the reincarnation to "I just want to simp for Ai" And it gets weirder when they show her on a playground, which suggests that she likes playing on a playground and being active. Because Aqua was just sitting there and reading. But pretty much 2 scenes later, they show her falling down, because apparently because of her past life it's still has like not a good control over her body or something. But climbing stuff and running and sliding down a slide and all that stuff works just fine. It overall just feels so forced for Ruby to dance, because of the school dance thing. I think it would've been soooo much better for her if she tried started dancing by herself, because she always looked up to Ai before the reincarnation and basically wanted to be like her. But instead after reincarnation she was basically just a Ai simp. Aqua had some good moments, many of them were in combination with the Director. The rest of Aqua wasn't that special either I would say, because quite a bit of it was also just simping for Ai. And to bring this to a end, the whole ending is just weird. Like I said, I would've like to see more of Ai, so that she gets more development but instead it felt like the death was rushed and because of that it wasn't as impactful as it could've been. And how did the whole Stalker thing even work out? He was basically a Fan, and it seems like what ticked him off was that Ai got pregnant. The only person who knew about that would probably be the Ex, the Producer and his Wife. So the Ex must've gotten in contact with the Stalker. But why wanting to kill a Girl for getting pregnant? And especially trying to rely on a Fan to get the Job done? If that guy fails the assassination attempt and would get caught, he could spill the beans on who asked him to do that. And then that person (the ex) would be screwed too. So did the Ex got in contact wit the Stalker anonymous? How did that work out? Was he on the internet and just ask random people how they would feel or what they would do if they found out if Ai was pregnant? That would be just weird, going around asking stuff like that. And by coincidence he found someone that would be like "I would kill her!"? And the thing about that is... people can say "I kill" but saying is different from actually doing it. If everyone that says stuff like that, would actually do it, there would be so many dead people. So let's say he just trusted the Stalker that he would do it... he failed like 3+ years ago, when Ai gave birth and then 3 years later the Ex would go back to the same guy and give him another shot at it? Seems not smart to think "this time he will actually succeed". So what if he knew the Stalker? Well... then he must have a lot of trust in him, that in the case that he gets caught, he wouldn't spill the beans. And it would just seems weird to tell someone that you know, that the Idol he is a fan of is pregnant to get him to kill that Idol. And I feel like there is just so much that could go wrong, because the Stalker was just so jumpy and nervous and paniced really easily evne 3 years before. Like what would happen if someone else opened the door? Would he just run away in a panic? Would he just kill that person too? Also Aqua concluded that the Ex must be in the same industry... because how could he know where Ai lives otherwise? What he didn't think about is, is that Ai actually called him and maybe gave him the Adress. So it must not be someone from the indurstry. And another weird thing, the Ex told the Stalker that Ai had twins when he send him a 2nd time? Because Ai told the Ex on phone that she had twins and the when Ai opened the door the Stalker was just like "how are your Twins?" and stabs her.... So yeah... I just feel like the whole Stalker thing just seems way to convoluted and weird. But hey... for the matter of the Story, it works out perfectly.

I feel like you haven't even read the first part correctly and then just skipped to the end to write that comment. Because otherwise the ''so you don't like this show because you don't like this show.'' makes not much sense. Because I haven't even said that I don't like it. Because the fact of the matter is, I did not dislike it but I also didn't liked it. I think it was "ok". And I wrote down all the reasons for that, if the author would've things done differently, I think it would've been better, and then would've been pretty good. But the way it is, it's was "ok". @Edit "Also you are mad because plot didn't go the way you would like it to be" what? I just said that the order of how things happened and the pacing and some other stuff is a bit off or just weird. But I never said that anything of the plot was bad. I literally said that it would be fine to kill Ai, if he woud've done it a bit differently to make it more impactful. Or that Ruby's character was a bit off. But the example I gave basically change nothing about the plot, it would be the same plot, just in my opinion it would've been more fleshed out. I guess you really liked it and you just can't handle it that someone didn't liked it as much as you did.

Saying that it's not as good as everyone thinks it is implies that everyone's perception of its quality is subject to your tastes. If it's not for you, that's fine but don't act like that makes it objectively any worse. An anime doesn't take over the internet like Oshi no Ko did by mistake. Also, learn to be more concise you talked in circles and made your wall of text way longer than it needed to be.

Very good animation and visuals, but Demon Slayer has very simple writing. Doesn't make it bad or unworthy of watching necessarily, but its nowhere as good as good as something like this anime for example. I mean this first episode alone has better writing so far than all of Demon Slayer up to now. But yes, I can enjoy both and recognize where each is in terms of their authorship.

I literally said at the very beginning "I personally think", that part is very important because it literally means that it's just my opinion. But it seems like you completely missed that part. And then you pick the tiniest negative point I wrote down, which is also purely based on my own opinion because I said "I don't like Idols" and not something like "Idols are bad". To keep my based on my opinion and not generalize it. And that point becomes even weaker, because I also said that I would've liked to see more of Ai. Also it's true the text is long, but I don't think that I talk in circles. At least not for the most part, maybe there is like 1-2 times where I actually went back to a point just to get back on topic. But for the most part that's not the case.

Well most anime/manga are overrated since it's a market aimed at entertainment first and artistic expression second anyway (and ironically this notion is explained in this very episode right here). But unfortunately you haven't succeeded to make a single valid point in those long paragraphs. If you were a troll, this would be considered a nice bait.

I believe the fascination for the anime is mostly due to the exotic representation of a fantasized medieval Japan. Watching it, Japanese fans can dream about an imaginary history of their past while weeaboos can get their dose of stereotypical "Japanism". From a cultural standpoint, it almost feels like a Japanese national response to western High Fantasy imo, so I still welcome it as a product. But I suspect many people overhyping it now will turn their back on it once the series is over.

Ai is literally the best character in this anime/manga and probably one of the best characters in recent anime/manga. You really do not udnerstand her character or understand the idol industry. It dosent matter if you like idols or not, if thats the case dont even watch it. Also the way you misunderstood ruby is nuts lmaooo. She is a simple positive character at first, and her love for Ai is shown many many many times. Aqua has well adores Ai simply because of Sarina. I could never imagine being this media illiterate
