At the beginning I didn't liked Soldier Boy, but wtih this Episode I really started to like him. His design is also pretty cool, without the helmet and with the beard.

Regarding Homelander at the board meeting--- No, Homelander can't read minds and didn't go through the trouble of listening on that woman... but he sometimes CAN discern things about people because he can listen to their heartbeats. It's why Mr. Edgar always unnerves him, because Edgar's always calm whenever they speak. The relationship parallels --- It's really interesting how Homelander/Maeve, Soldier Boy/Crimson Countess are parallel, but also interesting to look at Starlight/Hughie in all of it.
