shanks came back most likely to give the devil fruit to ace. Wasn't meant for luffy but destiny intervenes and lufffy ate it.

there is a theory trying to explain why shanks was at the fuusha village that popped up after chapter 1044, with context pulling from supplementary materials (sbs, vivre card databook, one piece magazines, one piece novels), so when that chapter gets animated, I think you guys will get a rough idea as well for context, the latest episode adapted parts of chapter 1010 and 1011. chapter 1010 was released roughly a year ago chapter 1044 and the anime is 12-14 months behind of manga, so you'll get chapter 1044 in anime around this time next year also, the big spoiler that is in the movie that people are talking about, maybe from this chapter 1044 (i have yet to see the movie so i'm not completely sure, but from what i have seen people talking about, it's supposedly from this chapter)

also, i think it will be a good time to start reacting to supplementary materials like sbs, vivre card databook because recently oda has started to put more and more things in them without putting them in the real story...for example, bounties of king, marco, izo, tobi roppo, and the revolutionary army commanders were revealed in sbs and vivre card databook

btw, in the one piece magazine volume 4 billion that was handed out to people who went to see the film red in theater, it is revealed that shanks had a bounty of 1.04 billion at the beginning of the story when he first met luffy...this was in today's episode on the shanks eyecatcher bounty poster

Nice reaction guys. I believe that the movie is slated to come to the West this Fall(no specific month yet). As for when the anime gonna adapt the spoiler within the movie, uhh could take some time knowing Toei's pacing because the Wano arc wrapped up recently.
