Thicc of the Treat September 1st 2020 update (Patreon)

Yo! First of all, thanks to everyone who stuck with me here going into September, I recognize the switch from comic to book is a big change, and I'm glad so many of you have stuck around!

What's in store in the coming weeks? Well, the beginning of the Kabocha Academy Curves Club light novel! I'm really happy with how the little prototype stories turned out, but they were just that, prototypes, and I really wanna get on to the main course! I'm gonna aim to have at least one roughly 700 word chapter out a week with an accompanying illustration!

One big thing I'm trying to tell myself, something a couple of you have already told me, is to really stop trying to overthink my art and projects. I'm a perfectionist who wants to make sure everything is perfect, but I just have to keep reminding myself that nothing is ever perfect in art, and a perfectionist mindset is the worst thing for anyone trying to do a long-running project.

Annnyyywaay, I still have some work to do before I post chapter 1, but I do have some art to show, namely some designs I've been playing around with. These have all since been replaced with more concrete references, but I wanna show em' off anyway. While I'm trying to be a little less perfectionist, I do wanna go a little harder and more detailed with the character designs, if I'll be drawing the characters less but putting more effort into drawing them. With Hana, I mostly experimented with her weight, seeing about just making all the characters more obese to begin with (she's not *quite* as exaggerated in the final product lol), while Sakura and Lisbeth were just more minor things like colors.

for every piece of art I post, there's just as many I don't lol. Just look at Hana's folder here, half this stuff was drawn and immediately tucked away haha
