Wonder Woman vs. Doomsday [SNEAK PEEK] (Patreon)

Hi EXTRAS subscribers,

I have a special sneak peek for you this week and it's a project I've had in the works for a long time: Wonder Woman vs. Doomsday.

I sketched and laid out this comic last year but hadn't got around to inking it until recently. Longtime subscribers may remember the Wonder Woman/Doomsday color pin-up I did last year, which was based on a page from this story.

As you'll probably be able to discern, this is an alternate take on the Doomsday battle from the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Think of it as the "Pegasus Cut," haha. Fans of my Whores of Darkseid series will have a good idea of how things will pan out for the heroes... and for our Amazonian heroine.

Anyway, the chapter (which runs 28 pages) is now fully inked and scripted -- I just have to go in and add shading and backgrounds at this point. I don't know how or when this chapter will appear on Patreon, as I have so much Submission Agenda stuff planned right now. I think it's likely it could appear as a Limited-Time special tier or go up on Gumroad for instant purchase at some point.

Subjectivity

It's already better than the movie! I've actually never watched past the appearance of Jimmy Olsen, which was maybe 5 minutes in. While I love Darkseid's arrogant attitude, it's great to also get the dominance of a mindless beast like this sometimes, too. It's a different style, but just as satisfying. I'm really looking forward to this! I love it when a heroine fights a monster that just has its cock hanging out in the open, right from the start. We writers call that "foreshadowing."

Yeah this will share some similarities to Whores of Darkseid, but it's a much simpler and more direct story. Less of Darkseid's attitude, more brutal dominance. And yeah he's just swingin in the breeze so you can see exactly what Doomsday is packin'.

Thank you! It was a lot of fun to try to recreate and adapt the Wonder Woman costume from the films onto the page. It's very intricate and I wanted to make her look as beautiful as possible. :)

Oh? Wonder Woman on MY feed? I am highly pleased. I could make a "LOL SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ACTUAL MOVIE" but I actually like the movie so all I'll say is I cannot wait for this.

My opinions on the movie as a whole notwithstanding, I think the Doomsday fight is actually pretty effective -- in the staging, the stakes, and the conclusion. This chapter will not be that.
